my impression is that it doesn't matter where you eat in new orleans as long as you are not a total moron. or, it's more important what you eat than where, if that makes sense. like if the menu has a crawfish etouffee benedict, order that and not a sausage and eggs omelette you idiot.

off the top of my head these are some places i ate
ruby slipper
mother's
flamingo a go go
palace cafe
coterie
joey k's

other wonderful stuff:
eliza jane hotel (hyatt points!)
house ogling in the garden district
bar hopping / shopping on magazine st
getting blackout in french quarter
taking the streetcar to
audoban park and going for an instagram walk
ghost tour.

if i'm wanting to fly in to NOLA and uber somewhere and not deal with a rental car, where would be the best place to look for a hotel/airbnb?

I'd add that the people that live there are generally interesting, lovely, wonderful people.

going to a wedding in munich next summer and trying to decide where to go after. it's down to eastern europe (like maybe vienna/bratislava/budapest) and iberia. i don't know how to choose

flights/points availability has chosen for me: portugal. would have liked budapest but this will still be great.

None of those places are eastern europe, god dammit.

But, I actually did a Vienna/Bratislava/Budapest trip a couple years ago and enjoyed it. Vienna is heavy on history/culture, Budapest has a lot more of a party scene. Bratislava is nice but pretty small.

Going to Germany with a large group in March. Most things are planned, but I’ll be in Hamburg from Monday - Wednesday midday by myself. Any pro-tips?

Cost was definitely a factor in my rating.

is there any point to new orleans if you don't like bars, music or talking to people?  it really doesn't sound like my thing, but my wife wants to go, eventually.

Food. And people watching. History and architecture, too.
