Still going to that museum and WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE for the three days in Tokyo
HERE'S WHAT WE DID
DAY 1:
Sweat our asses off getting our luggage to the airbnb halfway between Ebisu and Shibuya
Ramen at Afuri in Ebisu
Incredibly cool turntable bar in Shibuya called Jazz Blues Soul
Day 2:
Hokkusai Museum (enjoyed it more than expected!)
Takayshimi(?) Times Square food court for lunch, Tokyu Hands in the same building. (the food court sucked because it was like all take home and there was nowhere to sit)
sushi boat restaurant in Shinjuku
Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku (just amazing, mind blowing, etc.)
some interesting nine-course all-you-can-drink Japanese food that featured some weird cabbage noodle dish
Day 3:
Shinjuku Gyoen gardens
Some weird mountain climbing themed restaurant called Hutte
Takeshita street
A record store that also had a bar
Yakult Swallows baseball game (super fun, got trashed on the 350 yen beers from the beer keg girls but taking a piss was an ordeal because the seats were super cramped)
An incredibly shitty turntable bar called Grandfather's
A possibly shittier lounge with a cool view (DJamer Bar)
Day 4:
Yamante Art Museum (very close to our airbnb)
Hedgehog Cafe (one hedgehog had a really shitty attitude)
Random cocktail bar/curry place between Harajuku and Shibuya
Karaoke bar where they filmed the scene in Lost in Translation (SG Lounge)
Disc Union Record store (great stuff)
Flight home :-(
Overall:
Loved it
especially enjoyed walking between stations, like from Shinjuku Gyoen to Harajuku or Harajuku to Shibuya
People are absolutely kind and helpful even if they laugh at your dumb western face for committing a social faux pas
it was hot as eff the entire time, like instantly dripping sweat when I stepped outside
wish we could have had more dinners and lunches at random places
wish we would have gone to some of the terrace house boys and girls in the city restaurants
wish we could have gone to the country
