I could totally spend weeks there now if not for work, kids, etc.

I love the botanical gardens and national gallery. Spent two days in the gallery last trip. Just love looking at all the old artwork.

DC is so much smaller than I could have ever imagined. I was only there for a day, but I really enjoyed it. Get a drink at the top of the W and watch the snipers/security guys on top of the white house roof rotating the whole time in like Navy Seal black type of crap:love:

 :surprised:
I hope you meant to say black ops type of crap

I'm going to DC next month just to see monuments and Smithsonians and all that crap :Carl:

I plan to do that once the youngest is a few years older so we can all enjoy them.
i can't imagine ever enjoying that crap

we took a class trip in 8th grade, and my 2 strongest memories are laying the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier ( i won an essay contest) and finding out they only gave us 90 minutes to visit the Air & Space Museum.     :bang: :bang: :bang:

Oh and drive on the world's longest street, Younge Street. Please don't do so while smoking marijuana. Toronto is a good looking city with jack crap else that's special about it.

Spent time in Lexington, MO this weekend.  Took a tour of the town on Saturday.  There was a civil war battle/skirmish there and a cannonball got shot into the side of the courthouse.  It got lodged into the stone and it's still there!  You can still see it from outside!

Also a big steamship blew up there a long time ago and killed a bunch of mormons  :frown:

Decent wine country too actually.

Tokyo and the Philippines in the fall.  Probably 3 or so days in Tokyo and then beach life in the Philippines for a week.  Never been to either so any pro-tips appreciated.

recommendos obviously vary based on how many and what kind of children you are bringing

another family friendly recommendo is a pretty new Samurai museum in Shinjuku with lots of samurai stuff, an english guided tour, a wonky samurai show, and a dress up take photos as a samurai thing.

its pretty touristy, but is cool because its all samurai stuff unlike most museums that have like one sword and one helmet and 100000 teacups and 2000000 kimonos and 1000300000 scrolls of calligraphy

Will be on Oahu with the wife and Li'l 'Meals for 9 days and 8 nights in early June. Now accepting recommendos from all Oahu studs for hikes, places to eat, etc. Will have a car for some or all of it.

Have been to Oahu once before. Feel free to skip pretty much all recommendos related to Waikiki shops, I feel very :MichiganCat: about all of that.

Have a bunch of hotel points (credit card thread crosspost), so anyone with knowledge of Hilton, Hyatt, or Marriott/SPG properties, please share. Have stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hyatt Regency before.

Still determining the travelling party but it is all couple, 4-8 people total, no kids.  Robot restaurant is on the list.  The fish market with a crap ton of food stands is on the list.  Only 3 or 4 days so we won't have too much time but unique/good food and crazy experiences will top the list.

That place is terrible. Lost my wedding ring on the beach and then almost drowned when I followed a school of fish out to the break and had waves crashing over my snorkel.
