You can pound beers and watch giant container ships come and go from the port.
http://gaports.com/port-of-savannah

Largest container port in NA now. Imperial Sugar has a plant there  so I got to spend a couple of weeks in Savannah a few years back... a lot of history there.  Toured the container dock.  Inside the grounds was a slave cemetery.  Descendents are still laid to rest there.

Taking my first trip to San Diego next February and I'm pumped. Our hotel is in Mission Valley almost equidistant between the zoo and sea world. You can bet your ass we're going to the zoo. I've wanted to go to that zoo since three's company. Sea World, not so much.

We paid for the "behind the scenes" panda experience thing, where they let you in the zoo early. It was pretty cool.

I guess I never thought of IST as a huge international hub?  Their government shutting off internet access makes me like never want to fly in and out of there.

Well from that video I posted it makes sense with their geographic location.  I had just never thought about it I guess.  Hoping the new MCI is just as impressive.

LOL, how in the hell did you find that? I've been living a lie for 35 years, I always thought that open was the San Diego Zoo.

Haha I finally realized it just a couple of years ago even though it's staring you in the face during the opening credits.  I was living the same lie.  Mind blown.

Last year right on takeoff of a 9hr flight condensation poured out of the vents above me as the plane tilted upwards. Seemed like gallons of water. My pants were almost dry by the end of the flight.

Got some shitty Delta flight credit as compensation.

San Diego is booked. Two nights at Marriott Marquis. Three nights at Andaz. GF is joining me. Should be an enjoyable week even without pandas.

I flew RyanAir from London (no, not LHR) to Basel for like $40. It was like flying in a giant, shared hostel dormitory. One dude had a cat.

I have to fly easyJet, for work, every year from London Gatwick to Krakow and it's a crap show from start to finish. The bag check is a conveyor belt with like a dozen kiosks and like three employees. The conveyor stays getting stuck. Then they don't post the gate until 30 minutes before boarding. Want to get food, eff you. They don't have jet bridges so you have to board on the tarmac, no matter the airport. The boarding process isn't for boarding the plane, it's for boarding a bus that takes you to a plane then you walk up ladders to get on the plane, like it's rough ridin' 1958. The planes are always full and the smallest euro seats you can ever imagine. Getting to Krakow and experiencing their eastern bloc paramilitary boarder guards with machine guns is always a relief.
I was flying Lufthansa last month and had to do the same bus thing in both Frankfurt and Munich. Also done it with ANA in Narita.

I've used both Frankfurt and Munich on Lufthansa and never had to do that. But my flights out of Germany are always back to Chicago so I'd imagine maybe it has something to do with plane size.
I just remembered I also had to do this in Brussels on like an a319. Also did it in both Shenzhen and Guangzhou on something like an a320. Did it in Tokyo with a 767.  Frankfurt and Munich were baby planes though.
