Puni please provide Tokyo tips for 2-3 days. My daughter loves hokusai so we were planning to go to his museum but other than that just want fun/weird Japanese experiences.

(Also going to Bangkok on same trip but are visiting people that live there)

whole familly? just you and your daughter? age range?
Whole family - girls are 11 and 12 but pretty cool with trying new foods and other things

remarkable that you raised a tween girl with an appreciation for 19th century japanese woodcut prints

i hope you dont let her google him (he also did weird stuff)

Dude I have no idea who he is. I had to Google "Japan Wave woodcut" to remember his name.

I had to see. And, yeah, the results were like a bunch of breathtaking landscapes and an octopus eating pussy for good measure.

Flying Blue ( Air France, KLM, etc) has a promo for 25% off business class awards from Chicsgo to Europe.  The deal is only good through January, but they have award promos to europe quite often. I saw a 50% a couple months ago.

Just do this SD

https://www.kitlender.com/apparel/?product_cat=full-kit-3

I may actually do this. This is incred convenient. also doing this:

https://www.blacktieskis.com/#how-it-works

dlew, did you do a lesson? group or private? I can get a half day private for mrs. dave and I for like $800, a full day for like $1,100, or a full day group with both of us for like $450. any of that worth a crap? chicat?
I did a group lesson on my first day.  I think the total ran like <$150.  We went from about 10 to '4 with an hour break for lunch.  There were 5 of us in the group.  I have only ever been skiing once and that was 17 years ago ( :sdeek: ) and at Snow Creek in KC, so really, I've never been skiing.

The lesson was helpful to learn the super basics.  How to stop, how to stand, how to turn.  By the end of the day I was comfortable going down greens and was ready for something more advanced.  On the second day, I was doing some easier blues.

The lesson was probably the best money I've ever spent (outside of hiring movers).  I think I would've had a horrible time if left to my own devices/learning from friends.

there’s absolutely no need for ski lessons unless you’re just absolutely the worst athlete that mankind has ever seen.

go to the bunny hill.  rope up it.  point skis towards bottom of hill.  let gravity do its thing.  fall a bunch. when going faster than comfortable, point ski tips together and slow down.  rinse and repeat for an hour.

you’ve learned how to ski.  watch others and mimic what they’re doing.
then, off you go.  this isn’t rocket science.

A restaurant where your catch your own dish and then they prepare it for you and if you get sashimi it's on a platter with its own head and the head it's still moving the whole time you eat
