What driveable from KC city should I go to for a long weekend?

Driveable is under 8 hours for the purpose of this adventure. St Louis has the early lead.

what is your interest?   family, couple, solo?

Couple. Eat. Drink.  St Louis also leading as could go completely car free with a Amtrak getting me there.

Phil, are hooking up with any chicks these days? I always like taking my love interest down to NW Arkansas to the Eureka Springs area. Super cool town, elite lakes and caverns.

Need a city for this adventure. I've been to all of known ones but hoping my gE buds would come up with some gem I'm not thinking king of....haven't been to St Louis and Omaha the longest so leaning those directions.  Final decision might be where I can get the hotel discounted rate.

I think my next random city right at the 8 hr drive would be Milwaukee. Not a fan of St. Louis or Omaha. Denver is obvious, but I hate the drive. I'm sure you've been to Chicago a ton too.

Denver
Highly considered.  Room rates killed it this go around.

Oklahoma City is surprisingly fun.   BTW done the Amtrak thing, it's not much fun.

Did Amtrak to Chicago a couple times and enjoyed it. Never done the St Louis run. Was there something on that particular route that sucked or just the time it took to get there with all the stops?

Nashvegas? No. Too musicy and kind of far drive.

Did Memphis on a similar type weekend...that wasn't a bad place.

Sounds like you're dead set on St. Louis. Here's by far the coolest thing I've done there.

This or Milwaukee would both be great if you really wanna put that 8 hours in.  I have never been but Minneapolis would be fun too
