Also, Dub, we're staying in Frisco. That's where our friend lives. I heard 6-12 inches of snow there. Hows the drive there from Denver btw?

They are upping the numbers right now so you might get that up there.  Up north near Steamboat is supposed to get up to 20 inches.  It's early in the season though so it's highly variable and weatherman love hyping up everyone.  They said Denver was supposed to get 8-14 earlier this week and we got 1 inch.

What time are you driving up?

Yeah, i'm taking Monday off and we're staying there late. We're saving our points for our honeymoon, so we got the cheapest point flights available.

Maybe he means bad time to drive through the mountains, since this is the opening of the skiing season.

Yeah, you'll hit traffic.  Snow, opening day for Vail, 2nd weekend for breck, and there's construction putting in a toll road through some passes that's backing up a lot.

I see. I've been stuck on the Reno - - > sac/east bay on Sunday evening drive twice and it makes me want to punch people. Heavy traffic in the mountains is terrible to deal with

what is the deal with the toll road?  will it help the sunday evening parking lot on I70?

Yeah, it's eastbound 70 out of the mountains which is usually the killer because of idiots flying down getting in wrecks.  It's going to be ridiculous though.  $3-30 variable toll.  Peak periods at the high end, average traffic at $15 they say.

Which one?  Rocky Mtn Express?

If you are thinking of renting a car and aren't used to driving in the snow in the mountains, take a shuttle.  Frisco would be one of the early stops so it wouldn't be a bad option.  It sucks if your going further up cause you get paired up with other couples and have to drop them off first so adds 30-hr.
