Breck is world class skiing, you absolutely should do it.  One piece of advice...if on the map there is a black slope but it doesn't really look that steep or whatever, it's because it's rough ridin' moguls.  Avoid those.  You'll hate them I promise.

I assume the future Mrs. WC08 is an experienced skier?  If so, my advice is to get yourself a private lesson at the beginning of the day.  It might be a hundred bucks or so but the last thing you want to do is have either one of you get pissed off and say something you regret while you are falling all over the place while she tries to teach you.  :th_twocents:

Yeah, she's a pro. I'm good either way. I'd let her go with her friend (who lives there). I'm sure she would want to help to begin with, but I hate holding ppl back.

Yes go and take a lesson.  You are already going to be there so take the opportunity to learn.  Then you can get a faster start on a real ski trip later.

this is horrible advice,  ski trips are a great way to break up the dreariness of midwestern winters - even moreso when mediocre is about all we can hope for from oscarball

I wouldn't go to Breck this weekend.  Opened last weekend so it's crazy busy and there's only 6 of 150+ runs open.  Lift lines are 40+ minutes.  It'd be like trying to ski through the Royals parade Sat/Sun.

Plus, you'll want at least 3 days when your starting off so you can enjoy yourself.

After my KC to Denver flight was delayed so much due to aircraft maintenance that I would have missed my connection to Salt Lake City, United swapped and rebooked me over to American Airlines (barf) on a flight to Chicago, then to Salt Lake City. I waited around for a couple hours, only to have my flight to Chicago bumped later in the evening making me miss the Salt Lake connection. I walked up to the counter to figure it out and they then informed me that my Chicago to Salt Lake City flight had been cancelled so it didn't matter anyway.

So now, i'm sitting in Dallas waiting on the 10pm flight from Dallas to Salt Lake City.

All I can think about is all of the flight vouchers i'm going to rake in from United and AA due to cancelled flights and such today.

Pray for me lol...

I go to twitter, because I get free crap. My buddy works for SW (in their social media department) and they'll do anything for you to stop talking bad about them.

They really are. If ppl aren't using twitter for their frustrations and getting free crap, they're doing life wrong. My trip to Colorado this weekend with Ms. wacky is on SW. Thanks, SW!

sure, but you generally can't just take a day or two in advance to find a last minute condo rental and drive out to the beach from KS

Not sure who is your weatherman but it's 50's and sunny and Denver and the mountains get a good 1-3 inches this weekend.   :dunno:
