so my travel tip is yelp. it does that same thing but no record stores.

when you're traveling internationally you can't rely on yelp, and trip advisor reviewers are the worst.

tripadvisor reviewers are mostly paid for their reviews and fake. BUT, the non-pro pics are where it's at.

also I'm really down on yelp in SF. It's too heavily influenced by tourists and groupthink.

SF probably isn't a good reference point though. I find more local places on yelp than touristy ones, opposite for tripadvisor.

yeah.

And keep in mind that I am recommending just exploring a neighborhood as an activity when you aren't sure what to do, with a record store as a target and no other real destination in mind other than the experience of getting there. A similar activity would probably work with something like a comics store, or used book store, or sandwich shop or something.

I've done similar with long runs. Take an early morning 5-10 mile loop through an area. Return later with the family to explore the places I saw on the run.

I think that's actually a solid idea.  I had thought about being a adventurous and checking out the freedom tunnel.  But found out that they have painted over most of the graffiti murals.  So chancing a trespassing episode with the police would no longer be worth the trouble.

What will end up happening is I'll strike up a conversation with a local resident and go from there.

Has anyone been to Bar Harbor Maine?  To me it looks like the perfect vacation spot.  Nice, quaint, relaxed town with the added bonus of Acadia National Park and the ocean.

I'm sure people have been there _33, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a tourist attraction.

sometimes, if you have on a cool enough tank top, locals will buy you shots of jame-o, then, if you're lucky enough, you'll run into the bartender who poured you said shot later on in the day at another bar and she will proposition you for nose candy that she mistakenly thinks you're holding.

yes, it's awesome. Stayed at the West Street Hotel (highly recommend). Did a few hikes at Acadia. Stopped at the Jordan Pond House in Acadia for lunch and booze/wine (also highly recommend this). Cafe This Way and Havana (tapas side, not inside) are great food.

Hey guys. I don't have any air travel planned for the next few months. So, these will expire before I can use them. First PM in my Inbox can have them. In addition to the free pass, they're good for a $50 discount on Admiral Club membership.

Damn... missed this.
The recipient has an ORD layover binge. Perhaps you'll both be making the same trip.

Yeah, 8mp, meet me there to watch the seff in fOOD game on 2/20 or around.

I tried to do this once in Vegas for no real reason to see if I could leave something there for 6 months and it would still be there when I came back.  So I stuck a magnetic casino chip from ABC on the backside of a newsstand that nobody could walk behind as it butted up against LV Blvd....actually these 4 right here: https://goo.gl/maps/Qaqe587fPxp  Didn't work, it was gone.  I still am not sure how/why.
