so my travel tip is yelp. it does that same thing but no record stores.
also I'm really down on yelp in SF. It's too heavily influenced by tourists and groupthink.

if i am at a new restaurant that i've not eaten at before, i use yelp to figure out what food to order

A similar activity would probably work with something like a comics store, or used book store, or sandwich shop or something.
i like to go to areas that have a bunch of bars/ breweries and then wander around getting smashed.
Has anyone been to Bar Harbor Maine? To me it looks like the perfect vacation spot. Nice, quaint, relaxed town with the added bonus of Acadia National Park and the ocean.

Stopped at the Jordan Pond House in Acadia for lunch and booze/wine (also highly recommend this). Cafe This Way and Havana (tapas side, not inside) are great food.

So, these will expire before I can use them. First PM in my Inbox can have them. In addition to the free pass, they're good for a $50 discount on Admiral Club membership. Damn... missed this. The recipient has an ORD layover binge. Perhaps you'll both be making the same trip.
