We've got a few places in mind. Some spots we're thinking about are saphire point, Dillion lake, and a spot at the top of Breck. We went to Vail yesterday. What an amazing place! Too rich for my blood tho!

went to a wedding at the Vail wedding deck with the reception at the Game Creek Club on Labor Day about a number of years back.

I can't imagine a better setup for a mountain top wedding but the ceremony was cut short due a thunderstorm that blew up in the late afternoon in typical Rocky Mountain fashion so keep that in mind and maybe consider a early afternoon service if a mountain top ceremony was important to me.

I have seen it snow in mid August in the mountains, there is just no predicting it other than mornings are almost always perfect and clouds build up as the day goes on.  If a mountain top wedding at sunset is what the bride wants just be sure there is at least some shelter for her so the $$$$ dress doesn't get ruined.

He's right.  You can expect it to rain 5 days a week up there in the afternoon.  They typically last less than 20 minutes and it's sunny throughout though.

Also, don't know your budget but if you really like Vail, Donovan Pavilion is affordable compared to the rest of town.  Backs up to the mountain, gore creek roars behind it, and it's 3-5 minutes walking distance from two resorts.

Lots of locals will do it there and just round up a few favorite food trucks to cater.   http://www.donovanpavilion.com/

That's a hot take! We're trying to do Colorado as cheap as possible, since we're having a huge reception back home. That's why we've looked at a lot of national parks. There's only going to be like 25 of us.
