The airline told CNN it canceled around 500 flights because of the issue. Data from the aviation tracking website FlightAware reported 966 delays and showed the cancellations and delays together affected 42% of Southwest's schedule on Tuesday.

I was impacted by this. Was supposed to leave Denver at 7:30PM last night, that flight was cancelled and I was able to rebook for the 10PM departure. That flight was delayed until 11:50PM, so I decided to get a hotel and catch the 6AM flight out this morning, made it home. The flight I was supposed to be on last night was delayed several more times and didn't leave Denver until 1:55AM this morning  :sdeek:

grounding all flights does not equal grounding all flights for an entire day  :dunno:

I’m in steamboat springs rn.  These mountain towns in the summer are pretty nice.

Make sure you go to strawberry hot springs if you’re still there

Mountains are the best summer vacation spot in my opinion. Love the beach in late fall when my face doesn't melt.

I’m not, and we looked into it but they required reservations and were full.

We go skiing out there every year and agreed to make it a point to hit the hot springs sometime on our next trip.

Yep, Redfish Lake in the Sawtooths. Water was indeed cold AF but felt nice for a minute on tired feet after a long hike.  Sawtooths are gorgeous.  Will post pics in vision quest thread later.

Chicago in three weeks for my birthday! Museum and stuff on Friday. Arlington on Saturday. Staying at Palmer House. Where should we eat down that way? I'd like a nice steakhouse one night and some great pizza another night.

Get a hotel closer to Snickers, go there early and often, make friends, go where they tell you for pizza and steaks.
