Any pro tips for gulf shores/orange beach/flora bama???

It's an easy drive from KC area.  We mostly drive it straight through, but have stopped and spent the night in Memphis and done the zoo there and crap like that.  We like to stay in the big high rise condos and get a condo on an upper floor with a balcony overlooking the ocean.  Up high like that, you can't hear the rednecks at the pool or on the beach, and just hear the ocean.

We have a totally different definition of easy drive.

The drive from Dallas to Gulf Shores is about 12 hours and it's a beating.  Last year we drove to Natchitoches, LA and stayed the night.  Wife wanted to take the Steel Magnolia tour while there but I didn't budget that 45 minutes into our travel schedule. So, I drove her by the house in the movie and got out of town.

You can’t imagine how difficult my wife is. She loves to tell people she’s never been to Austin when she knows we used to drive thru Austin every year on our way to Port Arkansas. One year we even stopped and got gas in Georgetown, which is basically Austin.

i don't think it'd kill you to spend an hour in natchitoches for that matter.

Your wife is the opposite of a guy I used to work with. His wife booked a trip to Europe that basically included train stops to every country/place possible for like 2 weeks. He said some stops were basically just get out, look, and get back on. She did it so she could "visit" a bunch of different countries. I told him that he should have jumped back off the train at the first good spot and never talked to her ever again.

Anyone ever done Cozumel? Friends have a free place to stay and we’re thinking about going in July. I get to potentially test my biggest fear, which is being murdered by the cartel, in a horrific way. :excited:

At least that basically clears the bar for saying you "been" somewhere for me but yeah, what a low grade way of doing it. Better than going through something and never going out to say you been there. To me you gotta at least spend some time on actual soil in a place that isn't a station/airport whatever to claim you been there.

Headed to Colorado Springs for a few days. Looking forward to exploring one of the few areas I've not yet in CO. Fiancé has already said no gummies. No mention of brownies though. :)
