Might not hurt to create an MLife account if you don't have one and see if they have any screaming room deals.  Last time we were there I booked a room for a couple of nights for next to nothing.

Prepare for multiple emails a day, every day.

Cool pic imo. how relatively small a 737 is.

A380-800. 495 passengers.

I think the SW one is a 737-700. It will have a single gap in the windows in front of the emergency exit over the wing. Hard to make out for sure. an 800 would have two doors and two gaps in the windows ahead of the wing. Also the 700 is shorter so it would make the picture cooler and this picture is cool.

I flew on an A380 once and SFO could not handle the baggage or the people. The carousel was completely full (MCI style) but never stopped and it still took forever. Bags were getting smashed against other bags. It was brutal.

Also I was in premium economy which is like it's own tiny little cabin and it didn't seem like they want you to roam around. I'll actively avoid them if I can unless I can guarantee upper deck first class or I'm connecting or something.

ok, shorter. also a 787 is the best ride out there. giant windows, the air doesn't feel (as) disgusting, air pressure doesn't fluctuate as much, it's quiet.

the A350s just started flying (us routes anyway). curious how they ride compared to the 787s.

I'm not planeman at all but when I was in the Dominican you exit onto the tarmac then bus it to immigration and standing next to the 737 on the ground and then standing next to a 787 10 minutes later it was pretty  :horrorsurprise: how giant it was

I used to work at the place that makes the window frames. Pretty cool how they are made, but I think they’d hunt me down 8 years later if I shared. I had to sign some papers to go in that room.

Also, my sister’s FIL was one of the first AA 787 captains.

your flight lands at 8:30 am, hotel is across town and you don’t check in for hours.
between the airport and the hotel is beaucoup sightseeing and tons of great crap to do.  if only it weren’t for the damned luggage.
what do you do?

Haul it all the way to the hotel and check it. Then backtrack. Sucks but it’s the only viable option.

You can have it delivered to your hotel later that day/night, LAX definitely has this service and it's probably cheaper than backtracking

If it's LA you might try luggage hero. https://luggagehero.com/los-angeles/

If you're in Europe you can find luggage storage at the big train stations.

Delivery of luggage is viable but storing it at the airport or train station still leads to backtracking.

Did the train station thing in Tokyo.  A lot of times we are coming/going from the same subway station so backtracking wasn't an issue.  Viability depends on the city/public transit.

Barring that, I'm just getting it to the hotel and backtracking.
