I already called the beatdown.  Beale needs to go.  I will get to watch the Celtic game this weekend at a Celtic bar in Bangkok.  Should be fun.

Fulham get a good cup draw with Norwich at home.  A cup run and staying up will be good for me.

I think Bruno caught a lot of undeserved flack for them sucking, but making him captain (while better than bench warmer Maguire) is such a bad decision Ten Hag’s judgment comes in to question. I don’t know who the leader should be, but it should’ve be him.

Wolves are even on points with Chelsea having beaten Man City and they tied Newcastle. They are safe.

Man U

WOOF

that is a completely toxic squad and Ten Hag sounds full of excuses and lacking in any sense of responsibility for the product on the pitch.

The lineup yesterday was embarrassing. The in-game management/subs were shocking. The club is rotten from top to bottom. Ten Hag really convinced me last season but he has essentially given up now. This exact same pattern has happened with every post-Ferguson manager. Nothing will change until the Glazers are gone even though I delude myself every time they have a decent run.

I think the Glazers are bad, but like Chelsea has spent a ton of money and is worse off.

I'm not confident that there is even a medium term fix for that roster/facilities etc.

Man City was purchased by the Emiratis in 2008. They won the Champions league in 2022.

I know they had been dominant in the Premier League for the 5 years prior (with one Liverpool title in the middle) but it took time and some very dodgy financial moves for all that to work. Now, their academy and recruitment is light years better but it took a long time for that to happen and in the meantime there are plenty of other big clubs trying to win too.  I think Man U is much more likely to struggle for European football for the next decade than to turn it around and be top 4.

The situation with the Glazers is absolutely wild, they simply don't give a eff. Boehly is going to invest more in Chelsea in his first five years owning them than the Glazers will from the time they bought the team until the time they eventually sell. They are simply not going to pump money back into the club. I won't make a bit of difference but I'm done buying anything with that logo on it until they either sell or start reinvesting.

Considering at the start of the year we lost our coach because he complained about the strength of the squad and then we found a recently fired and seemingly rushed replacement, Wolves are in a great place.

To think that 3 huge wrong decisions potentially costing 7 points have gone against Wolves is wild to think about:

The current state of refereeing/VAR in the premier league is so embarrassing. They are making up new handball/offside laws as they go. Shocking decisions almost every weekend. Keep the goalline technology for goal checks, but VAR should just be scrapped.

it has to be a tech issue or something, there no other explanation for that missed ball out of play call on that NUFC goal yesterday, well bad tech or a crooked VAR. That being said, Arteta should be embarrassed with the amount of whining he's doing. That missed call doesn't help them score a goal. I really want to get behind them winning the league, but I just can't, he an insufferable baby.

Scrapping VAR doesn't get this fixed though, we'll just have more missed calls that we see are wrong, that won't get fixed.

I wish it would correct "clear and obvious" errors, and not dissect goals for 5 minutes looking for any little reason to disallow them. Also the re-refereeing on some of these penalty decisions is so inconsistent game to game. VAR is awful for all soccer fans.

My bold proposal would be to eliminate VAR but get a dang second ref on the field.

And seriously all replay reviews should have a 30 second time limit, otherwise the call on the field stands. Or just not have them and allow them to make wrong calls

I watched a Wrexham FA Cup game/match the other day. It was just right there on the TV. Pretty neat.
