MIR what are you wearing to the game?
I wore a dark navy quarter zip sweater with a white and multicolored pin stripe Oxford underneath with grey slacks. I purchased a West Ham vs. Man City knockoff scarf for £5 on my way in and put that om.
So crap started popping off on the tube. When the United match went final the city fans started singing like they won the FA Cup or some crap. Then when we got to Upton Park they kept singing the same line of the same song over and over again, some crap about wanting to go home because London is crap (guess they forgot they're from Manchester) they had to have sung it 20 times and the hammers were losing their minds about it.
Boelyn Ground is old but it has character. They have this tin wall behind the back row of the lower level and they beat on that thing all match. I didn't know I was in the West Ham section that stood all match
although most of the stadium stood for most of the match. That first goal was undoubtedly the loudest moment at a sporting event that I've ever heard, no close second. After and during the commotion literally thousands of them did this
to the city section, thousands. The ones not doing that did this
I didn't understand a single chant. They had thousands of bubbles coming out of a bubble machine and they sung a song about blowing bubbles right before the second half kickoff, that I actually kind of understood, although I don't get the bubbles.
The match was fun, I really like city's squad but holy crap, their fans were the garbage-y-ist fans of garbage-y fans o.a.t. When the match was over hundreds of them acted like they were going to jump over the stewards and fight all of the hammers fans, it was completely embarrassing, what scum.
The highlight of the night was eating delicious BBQ at a restaurant in London while watching oscar oscar and the boys kicking the crap out of OSU.
