Ah, Arsenal Futbol. It's the culmination of a long-running saga.

Fortunately we bought Podolski (German)   and Giroud (French)  to replace van P (Dutch). Podolski will take the number 10 shirt. I fear that Alex Song will also be sold, to Barcelona, but we need not worry, we have good cover in midfield. I would like to see Arsenal retain Song though.

I think Arsene Wenger will organize the team more like the Spanish team this season ie. plenty of good midfielders who can break forward and score goals. Similar to what Froman was suggesting with his side. Let's see.....

One more thing on RvP: he will (in my opinion) never have another season like last year's. For years he has been plagued by injury and Arsenal stood by him, but last year he really came good. Footballers at this level are mercenaries with no loyalty, but he was sold at the top of his value. He won't get a good reception when he returns to the Emirates....

all this stuff is pretty much stuff I've been saying forever with my super connected soccer bros

My "gooner" co-worker just told me this morning that Manchesterwich or whoever should have spent 20 million on another defender because last season they couldn't stop a leaky faucet and their old players are like really old and are going to die soon or something.  I said "you're right. I agree."

Don't work with SD, but he, myself and my co-worker have attended many elite, super secret Arsenal supporter parties where coaches share with us insidery information about formations and goalie secrets and whatever. Steve Dave. Lol. No one knows more about soccer, Arsenal and formations then him.

First, if I am ever deemed worthy of attending one of these SASPs (Secret Arsenal Supporter Parties), please PM me the details. In the meantime, I am looking forward to ESPN on Saturday morning at 10 AM EST!!!! LIVE!!!!

Secondly, if you made an an intentional grammatical error in your post and it is a special code that you and sd are using, I am on to you. (also, it would make your posts one of my favorites of all times.)

thought he was a long shot fee-wise?  whoever it is will get the hard-core stepdad scrutiny; modric is the only sports uni i've ever owned in my life.

that had to have been the bulk of saha's impact during his loan  :D

Newcastle was a surprise to me last year...any guesses on who makes a surprising run at the top 4? (doesn't mean they will achieve it just contend)

I am thinking possible Sunderland?

sunderland won't be very good this year

i think surprises could be newcastle (though i guess it wouldn't be the biggest reach) or everton

meh, yeah you're probably right. I just like Sunderland. Everton could it would help if they could pull of a deal for Demps, I saw some links floating around twitter about them making a bid. He will probably still end up at Liverpool is my guess.

Hey Brox or Scott,
I don't follow the Champions League and I don't even know when the points are counted, but who is/does it look like is moving up?

Hey Brox or Scott,
I don't follow the Champions League and I don't even know when the points are counted, but who is/does it look like is moving up?
you mean like who are the favorites?

gotta be real, barca, dortmund, juventus, and maybe PSG if they can get that side to mesh in time.

it can get kind of confusing, especially with all of the qualifications and weighted league coefficients, but it's so awesome to watch
