My Xbox 360 (Lazarus edition)
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:15:49 PM »
So my Xbox 360 was fried.  Would not read games, would not read dvd's.  Would just sit there at the stupid opening thing and not read the disc.

I sell off most of my games and a controller or two.

I stuff the xbox in my closet and don't think about it for awhile.  Tonight I decide to pull it out to try and watch a dvd on it for no particular reason.  It fires right up, I try a game and it fires right up.

Weird.

Had the exact same experience.  Mine died again after 3-4 days, never to work again.

I'm on my second one.  I think 'Clams has had a few, not sure if it was him who was telling me that.

I mailed my first one in and they sent me a refurbished one that has been fine....though it took 5 weeks to get it back.

If I had lots of money, I would do some sort of study.  Because everyone that I know has been through 1 or 2 xbox 360s, and i still have the same one that i've always had.  I don't use mine any less than they do, so it's very strange.  Random luck of the draw, I guess.

She thinks this whole place is hilarious.  I'm sure she could be convinced.  She's still learning some about EMAW though, she didn't go to school here.

360 will probably break again.  When that happens buy a PS3, that's what I did.  Unless you are eight years old or you have a 36" tube TV.

360 degree turn would keep you heading the same direction.  now, if you turn a 360 around the xbox, and keep going straight past it, you would be walking away.

I had that happen a few weeks ago.  Took my xbox apart and found that the eye reset too far back, and the laser was not under the disc (the rail the eye rides on is greased, so I think the grease was wearing off).  I think this happens to a lot of people, but they think their xbox is fried.

It was an easy fix, but it will ruin your warranty when you take it apart.  Took about 30 min to an hour overall, but I had to YouTube how to get my xbox apart without F'ing anything up.

A friend of mine had this happen to him and he bought a brand new one.  and gave me the old one to tinker around with.  I got it up and running again.  Free Xbox for me.  Now i have 2.  1 for the living room and 1 for the bedroom. Lots of COD M2 :excited:
