based on today's presser it appears the starters...
« on: April 12, 2011, 06:20:31 PM »
at LB are Lamur, Art, and Walker.  Snyder commenting "they bring more athleticism to the position".

If Harold doesn't get it together I expect A. Davis and Meshak to start at the ends.  Snyder mentioned that Davis is ahead of schedule and "surprised" him w/ his progress in practices.

I think we're going to like Davis...very quick and built more like Chris Johnson and Henry Bryant (6'/6'1 and 260ish).  Those two were warriors for us.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

I assume Lamur will be playing the hybrid spot?  That's pretty much exactly the kind of guy (body type) that I would like to see there.   Loved how Garrett was always around the ball but that dude is way too small to play anywhere other than cb.

Who are the safeties?  Burns and Zimmerman could be pretty solid for us.

Lamur has been practicing at CB and safety  :dunno:

The hybrid spot as we've seen it the last few years is pretty much gone. The termonology for positions remains pretty much the same, but K-State's scheme will be more of a traditional 4-3 with a strong and free safety spot. Garrett moved to DB/CB b/c his old spot doesn't really exist. Lamur moved up into one of the LB spots and he practices with the LBs now, not the DBs. At least he was last week.

This coach, Snyder, might just have a little bit of an idea of what he's doing.

I thought there was only one.

There was until the one decided to hire his son regardless of his qualifications to be an AHC.

Tate Snyder is also Associate/Assistant Head Coach?

Good for him. That young man has a solid future ahead of him. If he lives.
