2 for 1s are a much bigger part of the NBA game because of the shorter shot clock. They make a lot more sense at end of halves/quarters when you're trying to steal an extra possession. At the end of the game I'd rather get a quality look than a quick one just so we can get the ball back with 10 seconds.

I agree with this, especially at the end of the game.    When I am watching and I see us get the ball with about 1:00-1:05 left in the 1st half, I am hoping we get a shot a little quicker than normal.   That way we can get the 2 for 1 that is being discussed.  But if there is 50 or 52 seconds left, I know it is hard to get a real good shot up before the game clock gets down to 40 seconds.

Isu is pretty good at doing the 2 for 1.  In their offense, they can get a 3 off almost when they want because of their offense style and so many guys on the court can take a 3.   It may be a somewhat guarded 3, but Hoiberg wants his team to take a shot quickly, even if its the first 7-8 seconds of the shot clock..... because he wants the ball back for the last poss. of the half

College coaches may miss 2 for 1's but they damn sure never miss the use-it-or-lose-it timeout at the end of the first half.

LOL.  Yeah, they sure do.  Very few times I have watched a game this year and seen a team not take a TO in the first half

Kev would ask "Why?"  or "Why not?" which has served him well.

Every charge taken counts for two points. Every flop is minus 2 and an ice cream eating contest at halftime between the two head coaches is worth 10.

they need to make it 2 timeouts for first half or take away one of the total.  there are way too many timeouts with tv breaks.

It's official, KU will be favored in all five games in this "joke" of a schedule.

They also love to abuse the 60 second substitution rule when a player fouls out.  To the benches!

He thinks we could lose 4 straight to end the season. Thinks we look out of gas. I wish I could disagree with him.

Why would we be out of gas?  What a stupid thing to say.

I wonder where Kietz gets his information that the percentages to win are higher when you foul up 3? (They are talking about OSU not fouling.)

He goes through the math using assumptions.

Foul, you put a 80% shooter on the line, 30% chance of 0-board, kick to 40% 3 point shooter...~10% chance of losing...vs...

Don't foul, 40% chance 3-point shooter makes it, then 50% chance you lose in OT....20%

At least that's how he did it when I heard him blabbing on the air about it last week.

Yes, basically said it was a fluke. I tweeted him a link to Kenpom's data on this. (Defenders win 94%, foulers win 93%, 3 full seasons of data)

I think that decision has to be made on what your team excels at. For instance, if your team is a very good rebounding team, maybe it's better to foul. If you're average or below average at rebounding but above average defending, then maybe you just play it out.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Saying Embiid is basically a professional

BITB destroyed the KU fan who called in arguing that Embiid would be better off staying one more year.

The best decision for Embiid is the one that he makes.

Of course KU fans want him to return.

Also, I get really tired of the KC-centric nature of both fanbases, but 'tis what 'tis.
