I think there was a fair amount of pent-up demand to make coaching changes this year since everyone was freaked the eff out last year during carousel season and didn't make any moves.

Apparently Self's new contract states that any NCAA penalties will not constitute cause for termination. But also, his pay shall be reduced by half during any NCAA-imposed suspension.

The Texas Tech reaction to Beard leaving for his alma mater is embarrassing. Even more so when you consider that before he was there he left Arkansas Little-Rock after a year and UNLV after two weeks.

I was told they had $7 million a year budgeted so I expected a splash

I read the dude's bio and was like "wait he coached at HOWARD??" and then realized it was Howard COLLEGE and then learned that UT Pan-Am became UT Rio Grande Valley at some point and also damn
