I've never wished oscar had made a deeper run in the tourney last season than now. Unfortunately, he probably remains unappealing to nearly every Big Ten school.
On Matta, the health is obviously the primary thing going on here, although don't underestimate the hot seat he was on. Two elite sources in the Ohio AAU and MAC coaching scene have suggested for a few years now that Thad had basically been pretty terrible with in-state recruiting. Leaving him to get the talented OH kids with character issues, rather than the cream of the crop. Marc Loving is the recent example of this. From what these guys say at least, Thad never even had a shot with Trey Burke, who was from Columbus, Ohio. Recruiting from schools like Dayton and Xavier have hurt him in state and in the Indianapolis area.
