I think we, here, should all agree that the efforts on both sides (#SaveEMAW vs. EPAW) are ultimately inconsequential to our usage of EMAW. Of course, the Fitz stuff is weird and the Mendenhall thing is kind of fun, but my point is, none of us should care what happens either way.
Assuming EMAW isn't "saved" by some university official, what happens? The band doesn't spell it out at the games? Briggs stops putting out absurd commercials of Front Row'rs chanting "EVERY MAN A WILDCAT?" Big deal. EMAW lives now and it always will and it always has, even though it was dormant for decades.
We, us here, and everybody in this generation of K-State fans, are responsible for reawakening the EMAW spirit at KSU. UPKS, his wife, Mendenhall whoever, cannot stop it, cannot stop us from being EMAW, or acknowledging its existence.
So it does not matter who "wins," because ultimately, any victory either side assumes is strictly superficial. We cannot lose. EMAW will live on forever.
