Me too!  Haven't balanced a check book this millennium.

I have physical checks for exactly 3 reasons;
1) pay the guy who mows my lawn
2) pay the house cleaner
3) mail payments to idiots like Steve Dave who refuse to have a PayPal account

Sounds like the Feds have shut down any illicit business that may or may not have been happening involving gambling, and all monies owed are canceled.

A reasonable, law abiding, person would prolly want to clear up any issues with their paypal account, wouldn't they?  :dunno:

It's the most elaborate day field trip you can imagine.  You school spends weeks getting ready for it, with lessons on money, business, economics, law, government, etc.  You learn about checkbooks and crap like that.

You have students run for political offices, and judgeship, and then hold elections.  Every student who doesn't have an elected office applies for a job from the list of available jobs.  Teachers assign the jobs.

You then go to this giant warehouse that has a little town built inside of it, and work at your "jobs" all day, with break times to go buy stuff and have lunch etc.

The native American kid at my school who had really poor drunken absentee parents was awarded the "Trash Collector" job by the teachers....saddest rough ridin' thing I have ever seen.  Just degrading as hell.

I bought a t-shirt with a $100 bill on it, but it had my face on it.  I saved my exchange city money until it was too late and that was the only thing they had left.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Spent my money like crazy.  My day as a judge was mostly spent on break playing pop a shot.  Spent money I didn't have for dismissing fines.

Was great.

Looking back, I don't see how it didn't inspire me to pursue such a career in real life.

I would have worn the crap out of that shirt if I were you.

Yeah spent all kinds of time preparing for the day with lessons and job assignments and stuff and then the experience itself was total anarchy

Same experience.  I do vaguely remember walking on the "grass" (green carpet) and getting "arrested" or something.

Yeah, that's where the judge comes in.

Know I heard "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" at least 10 times. Heard about the first 30 seconds  of "Sex and Candy" before a teacher got wise.  Great time, I was good at math so I was the accountant or some crap like that.  Loved that the dumb/lazy kids got shitty jobs, it was like real life should be.

I got a banking job. I remember spending a lot of time writing paychecks for other people. It was a pretty boring job but I remember being happy that it paid well. Don't remember what I bought with my money, but I think I probably just invested most of it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Yup, at least in JoCo. Had a bunch of fake buildings and everything.
