I'm somewhat irish, so I should probably like these guys, but I just don't.

FWIW, took me forever to like mashed potatoes which was weird for a somewhat irish dude (inorite?).  Give it time, I might come around, or not.

hmm...i am not irish, and i like them. Is this a problem? Seems like i probably shouldn't.

not a problem unless you're british royalty, then you probably should think the band to be dirty and beneath your musical listening taste.  FYI, I have tapped my foot to one of those songs, :dunno: which one.

Why on earth would being part Irish make you like this band? It's not Irish at all. IIRC, they're an English Group and it's just folk pop now.

Want Irish Music you go to groups like the Dubliners, the Davitts, the Pogues. That kind of thing.

i was semi-concerned I was denying my cherished somewhat irish heritage for eff's sake by being meh on these dudes for eff's sake.  I've read one or two paragraphs about these guys and know they are folk pop (wtf is folk pop).  Don't care, still sounds irish, so what, go cats and weird bands.

Let's all pak on st. pa(k)trick's day and you dudes can play the crap out of this stuff and it will be perfect.
for eff's sake

These guys don't sound Irish...at all.

You must be a plastic paddy or something to think that anything with a stringed instrument and some percussion qualifies a band to "sound Irish".

They're English for crying out loud....the anti-Irish.

Chunkles, Bro. If you're looking for Irish music. Check out Gaelic Storm. They're playing in McCain on Monday. You should definityl try and get tickets. Pretty cheap for students.

From one Paddy to another.  :emawkid:

saw a somewhat humerous tweet from someone yesterday stating that Avett Bros and Mumford & Sons were the boy bands of the NPR Crowd.
love that. stealing that.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Whoever rented the house I live in before me didn't change their address to their magazine subscriptions. One of the magazines I now get is Spin. The last issue had a special on Mumford and Sons being the leaders of the new Americana (despite being English), and there was a 3 page guide on how to dress "Americana". Really lame poser hipster stuff IMHO. Mumford sucks.
