Ok, so what has to happen now for the Cats to lock up a non-first four bid?

Beat Baylor.   I'd be extremely shocked if that win doesn't guarantee it.

According to Lunardi, our seed actually improved (no longer on last four byes).  Still, if we lose to Baylor I think at best we swap them on the bubble line, making our first Big 12 tourney game critical (if only to avoid a first four game).

In fact, we went from "last 4 byes" to not even on the that list at all. "Safely" in?

Yes, win Saturday and we're safely in. I don't even want to think what this team would be about with our backs against the wall in KC. They need to finish this bitch up on Saturday.

if we play marcus in the first round, you can kiss my "sixth time's the charm" theory goodbye

Creighton isn't that good. They are 1-6 on road in Q1/Q2 games.

Barry would be up to the challenge of guarding Foster.  Yes, that Foster who is still in search of NCAA Tourney win #1

Foster played two of those years with us so that doesn’t exactly serve your point well

Play-in game vs Nebraska with the winner playing Creighton.  So much on the line in that scenario.

Huskers beat oscar for their first ever Tourney win.  Then Foster stomps the Huskers and carries Creighton to a Natty and is also named tournament MVP.

I think one of Texas, Baylor, or us drops out, but at this point their resume's are all better than the rest IMHO.

If we lose this Saturday, I will be sad we’re not playing on Wednesday in the Big 12 tourney.

If Texas loses to WV, they are toast. They would fall to 7-11 with 14 losses

If Baylor loses, they still are in the mix for the games in Dayton. With a win Wednesday & Thursday loss in KC, they still have a shot.

A Texas win & Baylor loss (both 8-10) would give Texas a slight edge because of the Q1/Q2 wins.  They would have 6/2 to Baylor's 4/3

first ever tourney win to make it to the opening round.  they join k-state tucknation as the only fans in the country to count a first four win as a tournament victory

Every school who's won in that round counts it. It's pretty amazing how it works.  Like, it goes in your record books. Pretty crazy.

As of now, IMO here are the last 10 teams in that are not in Dayton...

#33-37 - Creighton, ASU, Butler, FSU, OU
#38-42-  Kstate, St Bony, USC, Bama, St Mary's

Beat Baylor and I'd be shocked if we fell to #41-#42 much less a Dayton game

I'm thinking if we beat Baylor, we're likely to move up to a 10.
