K-State is somewhat likely to matchup with WSU in the second round.
Why?
Wichita is 90% going to St. Louis as the one there to keep them as close to home as possible. KSU is a potential 8/9 seed. With St Louis holding an 8/9 game because Wichita is playing there, KSU would be a decent fit to be close to home. Memphis playing us there in the first round would keep them fairly close as well. NCAA sells out of tix quickly
Yes, WSU is likely to be a 1-seed that will start in St. Louis. How does that relate to K-State being an 8/9 seed there lined up to play them?
I could've picked any number of posts to point out the myopia that goes on when we who are highly invested in K-State think that anyone else gives a eff about us or any other team in our range.
KU and WSU will start in St. Louis. That's good enough geography-wise. The filler teams that will also play in St. Louis may be close or may not but it won't really matter.
And I don't think they GAF about a WSU-KSU 2nd round matchup. That has appeal to Kansans, and especially us for lol-bbs purposes. It has no appeal to non-Kansans. Kansans will likely watch either team regardless of opponent, so it'd actually be better to separate them and have more markets be interested in more games.
I hope we play Thursday night causing me to not even take a chance on playing in my own pickup game before my thumb's fully healed. Someone let the committee know.
