Someone speak slowly and explain exactly why a 10 seed is functionally worse than an 8/9.  It seems to be better in nearly every way.
Depends if you want a better shot at winning one game or two. Beating a 8 or 9 is easier then beating a 7. Beating a 7 and a 2 is easier then beating a 8/9 and a 1.

Oh crap, we are going to end up playing Wisc in the second round again. If we make it that far.

Yeah, Wisconsin the 2nd round in Milwaukee would be outstanding  :goodbyecruelworld:

Well, lets just rip off 3 straight wins and land a 6 seed.  :bball:

A little outdated, doesn't include FGCU being a 15 seed into the Sweet 16. Actually, none of last year's tourney got incorporated into their stats. Interesting stuff nonetheless

has there ever been any talk of Re bracketing after a weekend?  to keep the higher seeds with the best advantage?

Yeah, I just found it quickly, still pretty good even if it's missing a couple of years.

really depends on the two or one is. I firmly believe we have a better chance vs WSU than Wisconsin or Duke.
Everybody thinks we have a really great shot vs Witchita St and I have no clue why? I get that their schedule sucked, but they're really rough ridin' good. I think if this team wins one game in the tourney, the season was a success.

I don't think we beat WSU I the Ro32 but I do think we beat them more times out of 100 than Duke or Wisconsin.

I think 10 is better than anything until 7.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology/bubble-watch?ttag=gen10_on_all_fb_na_txt_0001

The road losses are a big deal to some, probably most.

ESPN bubble watch has us as a lock

I think Palm is basically saying we are a lock too, but he under values our good wins because they are all at home.
so beating the zags in wichita doesnt count but beating a team like isu or baylor in kc does?
yes
but he said neutral court? seems to me they are the same scenario  :dunno:
The big 12 tourney is much more of a neutral court game than say the game in Wichita against the Zags, yes, imo.

We won't know until the brackets are released, but I doubt there will be a significant difference between 7, 8, or 9s. Of course, there might also not be much difference between a 1 or 2. Depends on who we get. So whatever, let's just get the highest seed we can get.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

People putting us at a 10 is not unusual though, but most have us as 8 or 9.

http://www.bracketmatrix.com
of the peeps who updated the brackets, we have a handful of them who had us at 6/7 seed and about the same who had us as a 10/11.       People just need to quit worrying about what Palm thinks. If ok st losses in Ames, their road record in conf will be 2-7 just like us.  He had baylor as a 9 too.  They went 1-7 vs ku/isu/OU/UT ...the 4 highest rated teams. We went 4-4.

If Osu and Baylor lose on road this weekend .... Osu will be 3-7 on road (beat rpi 185 USF along with WV TCU) Baylor will be 3-6 on road (OK ST, WV and Tcu)

The difference in being a 7 instead of an 8 or 9 is a 2nd round game against Arizona or Florida that I deem totally un-winnable compared to a Nova/Duke/Wisky that is maybe not quite as totally un-winnable.

It doesn't matter because we aren't beating any of the 1 or 2 seeds. Good grief.

Exactly.  We need to win out to get a 6 seed, and anything else doesn't really matter.

Note that Baylor, which is seeded ahead of KSU, is still on the bubble because there still is potential for the Bears to take a bad loss.

what does this even mean?  baylor's next two games will be against ksu cats or texas/isu, win and they then would either face ku or ou.

palm son your bbs'n is nails, i don't even.

Yeah, while he finally acknowledged that the Cats aren't (and shouldn't) be on the bubble, he did pull out that gem. Maybe he assumes Baylor will arrange an impromptu scrimmage with TCU next Tuesday before they head to Kansas City.
