looks like a decent chance we square off with an SEC opponent

Man, why did we have to lose to Tulsa.  3-7 doesn't look great for T-1, but it that 6-0 T-2 looks pretty sexy.

I feel like a 9 seed is pretty high right now, but if we beat OU (longshot, IMO given they will be in desperation mode at home) we probably will end up a 10 or better.

hopefully we can drop a couple more to get back on that sexy 10 line. 8/9 is the worst

Why? Does it matter?  Are you looking at the next round against a #1 seed?

oscar hasn't won a 1st round game yet, no worries........ :shakesfist:

i've been saying it all year, 6th time's the charm

I probably should worry more about OU than I am. They look like absolute dogshit right now.

Bracketmatrix is the best way to get a good read of possible seedings.  But even their consensus has aTm and St Mary's with 7s

Texas A&M is 6-9 in SEC. Very similar boat to OU where they don't want to drop 2 of last 3

St Mary's was a 7 seed last year. I have studied Bracketology long enough, I know when and when not to compare years.

2017 SM, 2018 SM (Comparison)
Record = 28-4, 25-4
SOS = 78, 159
Q1 wins = 3, 2
Q2 Wins = 4,1
4 losses in 17' - 3 were Q1 (all Zags), 1 Q2
4 losses in 18' - 2 Q2 and 2 Q3 (so 2 bad losses)

Their resume doesn't match up to other 7-8 seeds this year. They are 10-11 seed material

10 seed vs. 7 Florida

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

I don't even worry where he has KState.  It's just hard to take Joey seriously,

Florida St --
19-8
8-7 in ACC
Non Con SOS 321
Conf SOS 30
Q1 Record 6-4
Q2 Record 1-4

VTech --
20-8
9-6 ACC
Non Con SOS 335
Conf SOS 9
Q1 Record 5-6
Q2 Record 4-1

Tech has 1 loss in Q3.
Both beat NC/Clem at home. Tech won at Virginia.

Today - he has Fsu is a 6 seed, VT a 10 seed

Yea, they've been in desperation mode for a couple of weeks now.

PP where would we play our game location wise according to your algorithm and modeling

Nova & Xavier will get Pittsburgh Pod
Virginia & Duke will get Charlotte Pod
Michigan St & Purdue will get Detroit Pod
Auburn will get Nashville.
Ku will get Wichita
UNC is the best 3 seed and they very likely get Nashville

It's very hard to project right now, but being in the 7-10 seed range,  playing in Pittsburgh, Detroit, Charlotte, or Nashville is extremely likely.    Very low odds we play in the any of the other 4 cities

What an interesting resume for Oklahoma State.  I feel like it's pretty tough to ignore despite their RPI of 100+

Feels v 14/15 heupzcatz. Seemed like they year we slayed as many giants as we lost head scratchers

If WSU somehow gets to a 3 seed, KSU could play as the 11 in Wichita.  I can't see that happening though.

They're good, no doubt but both have some assy losses. The handsome guy has one significantly worse than Tulsa.

Also Tony Bennett is handsomer than Jay, sorry SD.

who is on the 7 line in that bracket matrix fan

Here's what I have.

Butler
Saint Mary's College
Texas A&M
Florida State

I took bracketmatrix projections from last night and tweaked it a little bit this time so some of those teams moved around a little bit.

Those teams all suck ass, so would take a #10 in that scenario

Wichita is a top 4 seed and likely be in Dallas.  Obviously they can't play on their own home court.
Cincy is a 3 now, could very well be in Wichita.

There is a chance Cincy finishes strong and gets a 2.  Then KState has an outside shot to be in the 7/10 with them.

Intrust Bank Arena is not their home court. The only way they can't play there is if they're the host. I don't know who's hosting that site, it's either them or ironically the MVC, as that arrangement would have been made before they left. The Big 12 could host there but I'm 99% sure the Big 12 is hosting the Dallas site.

WSU cannot play at Intrust because they are the host. There’s kind of a long and complicated reason for this involving the MVC that I’m not going to get into. Obviously a lot of Wichitans are pretty pissed about it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Updated again, this time I stayed true to the updated Bracket Matrix projections.

When I look at our tier and road wins, I can't help but think we could be seeded a line or two higher when the committee really looks at the records.

It is crazy. 7 tier 1/2 wins and 3 road wins. We have 9 and 6.

The bracketologists love them though.

We'll end up with a rpi in the 40s possibly in the high 30s with a couple of wins in Kansas City. I think we'll be no lower than 10.
