This cancels out an upset to them in the 2nd round of the NIT.  :excited:

Chris Dobbertean says Illinois is presently in.  Last four.  No cats.  I'm going to save my fulcrum post for the end of the season though.  Just to be safe.

One less team to worry about!  :Woohoo:

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/12280636/syracuse-basketball-team-self-imposes-postseason-ban-year-response-ncaa-investigation

boeheim reportedly charged darryl gross and wanted to fight him when the decision was made.  the question is, does he now quit, take his ball, and go coach at mississippi state?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

oscar would have made Boeheim eff himself with his own old man penis.  It's a missed opportunity is what it is.

Gross wanted to sweep it under the rug and Boeheim demanded under threat of quitting on the spot that they handle it in an honorable fashion.  I'm hearing the NCAA wasn't going to do anything and Boeheim still fell on the sword because he is a great man of great deeds and honor.

Also hearing that Boehiem would never in a million years coach in Mississippi and anyone that would say that doesn't know their bad person from their elbow meaning they don't know crap about this situ or anything really.  He's gone on record several times about that in fact.  Not really news tbh.

I mean to think that in this day and age of the information superhighway that is the internet that someone would try to spread such blatant falsehoods when the answers are at everyone's fingertips is v. weird.  Knowing someone that lives in the area is like saying you got it from the pony express.  It doesn't even compute.

Yeah, knocking off TCU and winning 3 of the 4 of @BAY, @TEX, KU, and ISU is a stretch.  But it'd be great.

A real question to be asking, is do we still have a shot at the NIT?   I think barring a freak winning streak we are hitting combo season early this year.

I won't until we have the first two secured with a chance to get 3 or 4. Call it pessimist, but I am done being let down by this team.

even 4/5 and a loss in KC means 15 total losses, can DeBruce make history?

Most losses for at-large teams (since 1985)
Team   Year   Won   Lost   Pct.
Villanova   1991   16   14   .533
Georgia   2001   16   14   .533
Kansas State   1990   17   14   .548
Villanova   1990   18   14   .563
Arizona   2008   19   14   .576
LSU   1987   21   14   .600

There were also 5 teams that received at large bids with 14 losses in 2011. Weird that they weren't included. Tennessee even got a 9 seed at 19-14.

Regardless, no team has ever gotten in with 15 losses. If we only lose two more games including the P66 we could be the first.

I would say the most optimistic scenario short of just winning out the regular season or winning the P66 is finishing 6th thereby avoiding KU until the championship game and hopefully WVU.

My dream bracket would be OSU in the first round, OU in the second and hope we get ISU in the championship game.  Just making the championship game with this bracket would give us at least 8 or 9 "wins over teams in the field" and maybe more if Purdue and/or ATM finish strong.
