It probably shouldn't make as much difference as it does, but this game will mean a lot for my perception of the season.
If we win in Austin, we will be almost assured a postseason appearance. I know most people don't care about the NIT, but getting in after all the crap from this season would be a positive. Plus, maintaining a 9 year streak of postseason appearances, even if 3 are NITs, is good for the program. Avoiding Wednesday and finishing 6th instead of 8th. It means winning our last 3 regular season games and 4 of our last 6, 3 of those over Top 25 teams.
With a loss, we're relegated to Wednesday and it will take 2 wins in KC to have any postseason chance, which doesn't seem likely. Its another road loss. Its a continuation of the up and down play from all season and reduces any positive momentum going into the postseason and next year.
Again, it shouldn't mean as much, but it does to me.
