when we were out in Salt Lake for the tourney last year we did the "mormon tour" where they tell you all about the stupid crap they believe and try to get you signed up...it was very eye opening...those people are off their rocker...and rich as crap.

Could be argued that they are much less off their rocker than most...at least they aren't blowing themselves up. 

Was having this discussion over breakfast yesterday...pretty much all current world conflicts are religious based.  I yearn for a good old fashion power hungry dictator, at least they can be reasoned with.

The polygamist living in compounds probably are prepared to do just that. And historically, they have lots of blood on their hands. What separates their lunacy from most Xians, Muslims, Jews, Shintos, etc is the contemporary nature of Mormons founding fantasies, the golder plates and Smith's dodgy explanations of how they were lost. It's like ready World War Z like I did this weekend, you really have to suspend your rational side to enjoy it.

The fact that their fantasies are more modern than the fantasies of other religions doesn't mean they aren't all fantasies.
