Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

If they expand to 60k what are the realistic chances we could host a Super Bowl?

The more I hear about putting Vanier on the east side the more I do think it makes sense to do, regardless if it's Bill or not no coach wants their routine messed up, and temporary structures and what not good for business of the team. Maybe make the main offices there on the NE side, and continue expansion of making the east side look legit with it. Then, make the NEZ look a combo of Zona/Indiana (and I think it should have like a party deck front and center behind the goal posts ) with permanent seating surrounding it on the corners, and a layer of club and suites above the party deck/permanent lower bowl seats. On top of that is new video screens etc. and behind all of the in the former Vanier space/parking lot put in giant workout/training facility. Having it go over the road would be cool but probably not cost effective. Overall, you get to keep functionality during construction, get huge area for training when done, update the whole look of the NEZ while adding 3k-5k seats which is not astronomical while also getting more premium seats and a place to booze.

The only thing stopping us would be that we're not in a warm climate. Maybe if we just go ahead and make it a dome though.

The "LHC Bill Snyder Family Town Hall" Dome does have a nice ring to it.

I would like the stadium itself be known as "Town Hall". The Horseshoe, The Big House, Town Hall, etc.

If your stadium is almost always sold out, it is too small.

huh?

I wouldn't be bothered by a few empty seats most games. It seems like if you completely sell out most games, you're wasting an opportunity to put more butts in seats by not having enough. Wouldn't it be ideal to have slightly more seats than ticket buyers for every game, so you know you're selling the maximum amount of tickets you can. I know people like to say SELLOUTTZ!YEAH! and maybe that creates more demand than there would be otherwise, but it seems like if you sell a games out, you should put in more seats imo.

Depends on what it does to the value of tickets... a very simplistic view is this.  100 tickets at $50 = $5000 revenue. 1000 tickets at $5 = $5000. Only it costed a bunch of money to build seats for 1000 people.

Unfortunately, you're missing a VERY key element in this simplistic view...  Concessions.

It's why NHL and MLB execs give away a crap ton of tickets for weekday/weeknight games.  They simply want the concession rev by having "butts in seats".

100 people spending an average of $5-8 each on soda, popcorn, etc. = $500-800

1K people spending an average of $5-8 on concessions = $5k-8k

I admitted it was simplistic, but the thing is we're not doubling our capacity, it would be ~10k people and would cost millions. And those concessions are only worth money if you actually have people that will sit in them.

Like I've said, I would love to have the seating.....as long as they can be filled.

Nobody is proposing spending millions just to increase the number of seats. We want to spend millions to renovate the east side of the stadium, replace Vanier with a new badass complex, and then fill in the north endzone seating so it doesn't look like crap. The extra seats are just a bonus. They aren't going to generate a lot of revenue, but if people aren't buying them, there really isn't any reason that we couldn't drop the price of the shittiest seats in the stadium to fill it.

I just picture something similar to this for the NEZ, but on a smaller scale of course.

Extend the NE and NW corners out even from the East and West, and have it drop down.

If you build a massive Vanier 2.0 on the East side, you could just have a huge concourse type area (standing room only tickets, THE SETTING).. or if you build Vanier 2.0 in the same place, it could extend up where the concourse is with office windows overlooking/possible suites, etc.

Honestly don't think it would add too much additional seating when you would be removing the fun zone and could trash the high school bleachers in the SE and SW courners.

It would fit in nicely with the lazy river around the field.

Just make a statue of this about 200 ft tall.

That's more appropriate for the castle motif than anything else I have seen yet.

Guys I like water.  Very KC Royals fan of me but if we had an open endzone like that I would want fountains with purple accent lights.  The fountains could be oriented to still show the vast beauty of the rolling flint hills in the background.  We could even make it part of UPKS's landscape goal for the campus.  I mean don't we have engineers and landscape/turf architect majors that could make this happen?

I don't think so. I mentioned fountains outside the Town Hall new entrance several pages back. Fountains look classy and stuff.

Last night I was trying to buy some tickets for when I'm on leave and back in the USA, and on the website it said some seats were obstructed view. Which seats are those?

South endzone.  Top 3 rows.  behind the wheelchair concourse.

Fountains are okay for the outside of the stadium for beautification (however, if no trees, the fountains would be a stretch - water is more dangerous than trees).  But within, they aren't very football.  Flowing water = need to pee.  Nothing violent or intimidating about them.  Well, unless they shoot blood instead of water through them.

Will remind me of how much I drank before coming into BSFS, causing me to miss the whole pre-show
