Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

If your stadium is almost always sold out, it is too small.

huh?

I wouldn't be bothered by a few empty seats most games. It seems like if you completely sell out most games, you're wasting an opportunity to put more butts in seats by not having enough. Wouldn't it be ideal to have slightly more seats than ticket buyers for every game, so you know you're selling the maximum amount of tickets you can. I know people like to say SELLOUTTZ!YEAH! and maybe that creates more demand than there would be otherwise, but it seems like if you sell a games out, you should put in more seats imo.

Depends on what it does to the value of tickets... a very simplistic view is this.  100 tickets at $50 = $5000 revenue. 1000 tickets at $5 = $5000. Only it costed a bunch of money to build seats for 1000 people.

Why not build a new Vanier underneath the field?  Isn't that how the old Roman Colosseum worked?

Yeah. Is there even a difference between recruitment and enslavement?  :dunno:

I just can't see it on the East Side, to me a combination of what Arizona and Indiana did just makes too much sense.

Only with significantly more of Vanier II showing inside the stadium.

Unfortunately, you're missing a VERY key element in this simplistic view...  Concessions.

It's why NHL and MLB execs give away a crap ton of tickets for weekday/weeknight games.  They simply want the concession rev by having "butts in seats".

100 people spending an average of $5-8 each on soda, popcorn, etc. = $500-800

1K people spending an average of $5-8 on concessions = $5k-8k

Could be steeper. But I'd rather it not look like the Galactic council....or DKR

the new big south area should allow them to sell a few hundred last second standing room only, if ever needed.

I admitted it was simplistic, but the thing is we're not doubling our capacity, it would be ~10k people and would cost millions. And those concessions are only worth money if you actually have people that will sit in them.

Like I've said, I would love to have the seating.....as long as they can be filled.

Last night I was trying to buy some tickets for when I'm on leave and back in the USA, and on the website it said some seats were obstructed view. Which seats are those?

Am I the only one who thinks standing room around the concourse is a good idea? Like how Cowboy Stadium has theirs set up. Minimal funds to construct. Cheap tickets for fans.

standing room only tickets are cool at Cowboys games because their concourse is littered with tvs and you can drink there, imo

Yeah i'm not a fan of building a ton of empty seats. Indiana and Arizona's stadiums are good templates. As is TCU. It seems there is enough room in front of vanier and on the side to build up and out.

Here is TCU's stadium

fwiw, i'm told they cannot build a bigger 'tron on the north side because the building couldn't handle the weight of construction/new stuff. so yeah, new building.

The more I hear about putting Vanier on the east side the more I do think it makes sense to do, regardless if it's Bill or not no coach wants their routine messed up, and temporary structures and what not good for business of the team. Maybe make the main offices there on the NE side, and continue expansion of making the east side look legit with it. Then, make the NEZ look a combo of Zona/Indiana (and I think it should have like a party deck front and center behind the goal posts ) with permanent seating surrounding it on the corners, and a layer of club and suites above the party deck/permanent lower bowl seats. On top of that is new video screens etc. and behind all of the in the former Vanier space/parking lot put in giant workout/training facility. Having it go over the road would be cool but probably not cost effective. Overall, you get to keep functionality during construction, get huge area for training when done, update the whole look of the NEZ while adding 3k-5k seats which is not astronomical while also getting more premium seats and a place to booze.
