new track is happening at the northeast corner of 6th street and K-10. far away from campus, because that's where you put a new facility when someone else pays for it because the school can't afford it. congrats on your national title in track, we think so highly of track and field that we are putting you 6 miles from campus, lol
not true either, I'm on 6th and Ohio right now

it is true. they started construction on the softball/soccer/track facility weeks ago. also 6th and Ohio, opposite end of town from 6th and k-10

speaking of trees, it's interesting how many photos in the new album are taken from such angles and distances that the new West Side is framed by trees.  It's almost like the juxtaposition of buildings and landscaping creates an aesthetically pleasing balance.  Then you put away the wide-angle and realize there aren't any trees.

Oh, and also renderings of the new east side lights.

Guys stop making fun, that's not KU's stadium, that's the Metcalf South Shopping Center.   :dubious:

Wasn't making fun just had some free time and was curious. It is however most assuredly ku memorial

LIMESTONE!!!!!

Man, Starlight Theatre really is looking smaller these days.  Swope Park still has that abandoned and forgotten vibe.

Or tan paint. Which I'd probably settle for between now and the time they actually put up a limestone wall.

With the east side lights right above the upper deck seats like that wont the emaws sitting there be buried in a terrible rain of dead insects by the 3rd quarter of a night game?

They are going to be pretty far above the top row.

15-20ft.

It would be pretty cool if we had a facade for the east side too, eh?  Or is that just crazy talk that won't happen for 20 years?

FWIW, it's looking really great.

Vanier's gotta go.  Woof.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Agreed, the sooner we can get a nice facility with training spaces and offices, player's lounge and all of the things to match top D-1 programs the better, it just more and more looks inadequate and mismatched to the rest of the stadium
