Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.

K-State athletic director John Currie said he has visited roughly 20 stadiums in the past two years to help gain ideas for the Wildcats' planned expansion on the west side of Snyder Family Stadium. Designs are still being considered, but he hopes K-State can build a structure that rivals Texas Tech's press box, which spans from end zone to end zone and towers above everything else in sight. "We want something that adds scale to the stadium," Currie said.

Texas Tech's press box was done by AECOM as well.

Quote
The expansion and renovation of Jones AT&T Stadium, by Ellerbe Becket, an AECOM Company, made it a signature campus building, honoring the university’s commitment to the Spanish Renaissance style of architecture. Arcades and transition elements transform the massive size of the stadium to a pleasant pedestrian scale.

The 175,000-square foot west stadium building replaced the previous pressbox and provides important revenue-generating amenities for university donors and alumni, including club seats, suites, a club restaurant and lounges. A stained glass Texas Tech logo marks the entrance; murals of university history adorn the lobby and stairwells. The addition also includes football training facilities and 10,000 new seats.

am I the only one that doesn't really like t-tech's pressbox? I get that we wouldn't go with the spanish style, but I'm just not in love with how it looks from the field. I don't know what it is, it just looks goofy. like an office building built in a football stadium.
that being said, it seems like it's very nice, and 1,000,000 times better than the POS that we have currently.

yeah it looks like crap from the field.  hoping ours will have another club level like the east side.  also like the idea of having a restaurant in it.

this, a club level is a must. also, I hope it looks somewhat similar from outside the stadium and inside. tech's looks like 2 different buildings. out it's all spanishy, inside it's all moderny.

a restaurant would be sweet. open to public or just  :kstategrad: type people?

+1. Looks incredibly cheesy.

Also, club level is a must.  I'm confident itll have a club level. Currie is too smart.

I doubt much will get leaked until the project is completely bid. All of the renderings are out there with certain companies that have been asked to give bids. The renderings on page 53 are "The Renderings" except that there are about 10 more pages that contain about 6 more future phases including seats being added that connect section 1 to the north endzone and permanent seating on top of vanier. The tailgate I was at several weeks ago is a large donor that does interior finish work and they have the rendering booklet and have been asked to give bids for the finishing work.  They were holding the plans like a top secret file from the government.  The plan is to start building the first two sections after this season is over, starting with the areas to the north of the current pressbox and to the south of the pressbox and leave it like that until after next season when they knock down the current pressbox and finish it completely for the 2013 season.  For 2012 it will basically look like a construction zone much like Boone Pickens was for 2 seasons.  It's a monster project that can't be completed in one offseason.  It's going to be exciting indeed and when Currie says "Scale" he's not kidding.  Breathtaking.

good post

Now some of the other posters in this thread said that there was an issue with the renderings and switching firms.  Made it seem like the new firm couldn't use those pics and that things would change.  Confirm/deny?
