I think what he is saying - and what I've been saying - is that we don't know how it will ultimately look, because it is NOT COMPLETED.

The East Side is clearly subpar.  Clearly, a mistake was made 15 years ago when they built this thing cheap.  Unfortunately, we don't have the money to fix it right now.  The $125,000,000 that we could have used to upgrade that side of the stadium is being used to build a new bball practice facility and West Side structure. 

I'll post the rendering again.  When clad in limestone and when graphics are hung - the restroom addition will be acceptable.   The bathrooms are a bandaid.  no question.  But, wtf are people freaking out about them???  jezuscrist, we have some bitches in this board.  They won't look great.  They won't look terrible.  They'll be meh.  Just like the entire East Side.

I basically agree. The bathroom are about function, not form. When it comes time to make the East side about form, they'll enclose the whole thing and you won't see the bathrooms from the parking lot. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Dear architects and KSU athletic director,

I did a few hours of doodling & photoshop last night after daydreaming about how the stadium might turn out. This is what I came up with.



The facade blends traditional visual icons from around the campus with some of the modern feel seen on K-States athletic facilities such as the Vanier complex and the upcoming basketball practice facility. Basically the idea here is to create the "face of the university" that Mr. Currie is looking for. Also it is jam packed to the brim with limestone.

It features a big central glass thingy that looks from all levels onto a majestic limestone portico entrance which will be used by rich guys with box seats and things like that.  The proletariat are not left out however, as they now have a grand entrance on the south side of the complex that feeds not just the lower level and endzone seating, but also the northwest entrance into the OOD (pretty handy). Above the grand entrance is an indoor area that can be used for lounge or restaurant seating. To really spice it up, it also features a balcony (it's not visible in the pic silly) facing all the action on the field. WOW.

Yeah, we've got some dumb rough ridin' fans.  no doubt about it.  Just like any fan base.  But a lot of these "tucks" are loaded bastards who donate a lot of money to our University and I don't give a crap if they do praise Snyder like he's god.  The suites and club seating for the new West side expansion have already been priced out.  These "tucks" have already been approached about pledging $$$ for the new donor level WS.  The new suites will be legit.  And they'll be expensive as eff.  But, these "tucks" are going to pay it anyway because they went to K-State, they sent their kids to K-State, and they love K-State.  These "tucks" rode it out through the Prince years.  Many of them are glad to have Snyder back.  And most of them would love to have Patterson or some other Elite coach after Snyder leaves.  

One of my best friends at K-State from '01-'05 is from a big KSU family in Nemaha County (shirt tuck capital of Kansas).  His Dad and Uncles have had a Suite at BSFS since the press box was built and they've pledged to purchase a new suite when it comes on line.  I'd wager that these "tucks" donate more money to KSU in one football season than all of the people on this board combined.

Relax. I know that an overwhelming majority of high level KSU donors are exactly as you described. In fact, that post I made was the first time I've ever referenced the word 'tuck' because I agree that it gets used unfairly towards a lot of damn people that give a ridiculous amount of money to this university. Who gives a rip if they tuck their shirts in? If not for them, we wouldn't be where we are today.

However, I also know some legitimate donors that literally think LHC Bill Snyder can do no wrong, and think this program will be just fine as long as he's here. Disagree all you want, but they are out there and I know they are most likely in the minority...........but they are out there. And it's THOSE people my post was referred to. Not the people you describe.

I'd also note that many on here are not just joking about "tucks."  Many on here legitimately believe that the guys wearing purple checked oxfords from GTM Sports are the reason we sucked in basketball for 20 years and that our football program crumbled after 2003.  I think those guys are idiots, btw.

I've never attributed being a tuck to how much money you have.

Tucks have nothing to do with money. Tucks are ones that want you to sit down because they can't see and put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem. Tucks have the volume turned up loud on their headsets during football games so they can hear Wyatt say where the running back was spun down. Tucks put Ryan Wallace's videos on repeat because they're so great and instill so much Powercat pride.

You see Belvis, being a tuck is more of a lifestyle than it has to do with the amount of money you give.

No, I hear ya.  I certainly recognize that tuck doesn't imply rich.  I've got a tuck that sits one row behind me at bball games who literally tucks his t-shirt into his jeans and wears a ruby ring on his left pinky finger that looks like it was purchased at the Renaissance Festival.  

But, in this thread, the topic of the day is "big donor" tucks whose donations are contingent upon Snyder or the perceived good ole boy Populous being selected as Architect.  I'm responding to the idea that Donor Tucks are rough ridin' retards who only donate money if Snyder and Cosh are keynote speakers at the Caw Valley CatBacker event.  

If this thread were all parody, I wouldn't give a crap.  But, the last 10 pages of this thread have been all serious for the most part.  And the people making the donor tuck comments weren't necessarily joking.

There is a story of origin that Trim would do well to share.  It provides the beginning of the etymology.  I think you are making some other assumptions based on some degraded versions of the term.
