Question for the construction/demolition types on here:

Did they start ripping out the "original" part of Vanier first before tearing into the "new" Vanier for any good reason? Or, is that just how it's gone?  Looks like all the stuff built before the 90's is gone and all the "newer" stuff still stands...

Did they start ripping out the "original" part of Vanier first before tearing into the "new" Vanier for any good reason? Or, is that just how it's gone?  Looks like all the stuff built before the 90's is gone and all the "newer" stuff still stands...

I assume they are hauling out of the east drive, so they are demolishing the stuff closest to the haul route first.

The asbestos idea makes total sense as it likely had a shitload of that crap based on when it was originally built.  I can also see the point about selective demo based on construction that's already begun.

Just thought it was odd to see that they were sort of "digging out the middle" based on what can be seen on webcam.
