The main theme/driver to all the Phases is to develop connectivity/continuity in and around the stadium (blending in with the BTF and fOOD), that eventually lead up to Vanier 2.0, the cherry on top.  This abides with the University's Master Plan as well.

We won't see any major project at BSFS >~$20 million until Vanier 2.0.  It's hard for me to envision them relocating even the indoor practice facility to the N side, even with Vanier 2.0 completed.

Welp, the orginal master plan had Vanier 2.0 last, however the rumors fluttering around that the Vaniers have said they're okay with Vanier 2.0 sooner as long as their name stays on it.   Other rumors fluttering about are that Snyder agrees that Vanier 2.0 is needed but no word as to if he'll be patient enough to allow for the construction process.

IMO the only and the most logistical efficent spot for Vanier 2.0 is starting from scratch in the North Endzone.   I don't think Northeast corner is viable, I don't think East Side is viable.    In my over thinking way, one way to get it done and make Snyder somewhat happy, is to build an entirely new practice complex across the street, with 2 outdoor fields and 1 indoor field.   Use the area for one of the practice fields as a place where a high end modular "city" is set up with offices, dressing rooms etc.   Build the new indoor facility first and make it big enough that an end area can be set up as a strength and conditioning area.   Then move the football staff and operations over to "modular city" as soon as the regular season ends, clear out the North Endzone, and then work like hell to ensure that at least the new dressing rooms and the stands are complete by the beginning of the next season.

This is probably the most doable.

If the timeline for Vanier 2.0 is sped up, then I think the priority will be a complete redo of the North Endzone and other Phases on the S side will be put behind.  Vanier 2.0 was the most costly/time consuming Phase (and since they put money in Vanier in 2010); hence, I bet why it was put last in the Master Plan.

What would be the plan for the existing indoor/outdoor facilities?  Jardine expansion/Snyder Museum and Library?  Soil and Crop Judging Proving Grounds?  1/4 Scale Tractor Pull Grandstand and Track?  I have a feeling that across the street is earmarked for something else...

I would agree that across the street has probably been spoken for.  But check out what NC-State did with the Murphy Football Center.  It's 4 stories and likely the largest football "operations" facility in the country.  I figure with the layout we'd have to go tall to keep with the closing off the stadium concept.

I think there's enough room, Paul. And after reading this thread and being bored at work, it got me to thinking. Went all Skinny B on a stadium/area dream.

What if they start building Vanier 2.0 out pretty close to Kimball while not touching the existing structure (only parking would be an issue for awhile, I think). Make it appear aesthetically similar to the BTF, but bigger of course. In the right time frame, move into whats available in the new structure, tear down the old, complete the new building, add new seating/locker rooms and concourse where the original Vanier was. Then build the indoor facility across the street with a walkway/bridge to the entrance (*guessing none of this will happen)

This is what it would look like somewhat. Elite as eff if they could make this happen. Thoughts?

North of the stadium, move this crap somewhere else:

Then move the practice fields to the north end of the East Lot and move the East Lot across the street.

That will leave us with PLENTY of room at the north end of the stadium to add bleachers, premium seating, Vanier 2.0 and Godzillatron 2.0.

What's going to happen to all the outdoor practice facilities south of TFS? WE have plenty of our door as it is, I'd like to have an indoor where Vanier sits and would be behind the new NEZ stands
