Quote from: j-von on June 13, 2013, 04:14:50 PMI hope they do end up doing something similar to this as far as the stands go in the corners and such, with a big time Vanier 2.0 connected of course... but hopefully it'd be way shorter somehow.. I just, I just don't want to take away from the setting, ya know?
i like old stadium, glad it is getting new turf

You can't just "lower the field" without changing the sight lines for the lower seats. You'll be looking into the back of the head in front of you.
definitely keep vanier low so it doesn't block the view of the Setting
maybe a large video board that just shows a live shot of the Setting from the other side of the building?
Memorial Stadium in Lawrence has one of the best settings in college football. Once the field is lowered and track removed along with other improvements to the stadium, I would think we would take a good jump in the rankings. Obviously we'll never be near the top due to a smaller fanbase and inability to build an 80,000 + stadium...but as far as enjoying a beautiful saturday it won't get much better.
