It's a pretty big recruiting advantage, and a nice source of revenue for KU athletics.

Gawd knows, they need something. 30,000 in the stands Saturday. Tech ain't bringing anybody this year, and TG's salary got to get paid.

The attendance for Northern Illinois was 48,084.

Probably because it was one of the few games KU is going to win this season.

You don't think KU has a decent shot to beat Texas Tech at home after Tech almost lost to Nevada in Lubbock?

Maybe a shot. Regardless, I said one of the few. If you do win that, the grand total would be 3, with no chance of winning another one. Even you apparently don't think you have a shot at any other home game. The fans will start going to get lunch just to talk about how much old basketball players love Lawrence instead of going to the football games very soon.

You really don't travel much.

When the streets are being papered with free tickets, what else is there to do on a Saturday night in Lawrence KANSAS?

What else is there to do in Austin, Madison, Tempe, Eugene, Athens, etc, etc.?

I've been to Austin, Boulder, Tempe, Tucson, Eugene, Boise, and a few others just over the past couple of years.

So has Paul Pierce.

Pretty sure Pierce just rolled through my neighborhood in his Bentley.  Probably owns a house or something nearby.

Lots of fans leave at halftime to go drink more and never come back.  Same thing happens at K-State.  The official attendance accounts for the number of people who passed through the gates, whether they stayed for the entire game or not.

Pictures from earlier in the game show that the stands were almost completely full:

The stands even look pretty full at the end of the game aside from a couple spots in the corners.

I really love the arrogance from Hayseed State fans regarding KU football.  It's just so rich coming from fans of a program that's historically one of the worst football programs of all-time.  Fans of an athletic program that have no national championships in any team sport (outside of soil judging).  KU has three bowl wins since K-State's last one in 2002.  We've won four out of the last seven matchups in football.  We own the all-time series in football by almost thirty games.  Get back to me when K-State fields a team that's capable of winning the Pinstripe Bowl against Syracuse.  Get back to me when your football program accomplishes something without Old Balls.

So, totally ignore the picture showing a shitload of empty seats and also take the last 20 years of utter domination out of the equation?  Guess whoever taught Ben math at KU is also in charge of official attendence numbers.

Lots of things...like go to cheer a team that has a chance of winning a game...or drink before a game to a responsible point so that you can remember the game and them eff chicks from your school or the opposing one who were at the game...or go to any of the many bars in these towns for their elite college atmospheres that include packed stadiums...need I go on?

p.s.  Hows your trust doing with the market so volatile? Bad?  Decent?  Below Average?....or has the news from Europe over the last few days caused an uptick in your gigantic trust?

Hugged it out with Chris Griffin during halftime last night.  He flew in from San Diego to combo his ass off for both games.  So blessed.
