“I mentioned to coach I think we should have something like this again to where we get together. This is a family type program. The guys that come back ... they stay in touch. I still stay in touch with Ryan Robertson. I talk to Mario (Chalmers, in NBA). We have that relationship because we are Jayhawks. It’s beautiful. Other schools don’t do this around the country to where guys come back. This is a special place.  Coach said any time we can, come back. I plan on coming back a lot more than I have in the past. You don’t truly realize how special this place is until you step back away from it and you see it again. It’s unbelievable.

- Paul Pierce

Where are the pics of Pierce rolling through Lawrence in his Bentley?

Any idea when K-State is going to host their first ever Legends of the Farm?  I'm sure they could scrounge up a few walk-ons from the 1964 Final Four team.  Hell, they might even be able to convince Jason Bennett to make a cameo appearance.

Our former players come back because they love MHK.  Your former players come back because they feel guilty and obligated after neglecting Lawrence for so many years.

Sorry Beems, but "Legends of the Phog" was just a football tap out in late September. No one outside of KU really gives a eff, and even KU people probably didn't give a eff.

Seriously though, I hope Lawrentucky doubled their police force for the evening.  Thoughts and prayers go out to the naive coeds and kitchen sinks.

I just hope, for their sake, that crap didn't get too awful real.

I'm intrigued by the tuck towards the left side of the picture who doesn't seem to be looking at whatever he's clapping for.  Also, mods, feel free to move to the thread about how high fat people should wear their pants.

It's a pretty big recruiting advantage, and a nice source of revenue for KU athletics.

It is cool Cole, Xavier and Mario came back today.

HOWEVER.

Paul Pierce does not come back to Lawrence very often if at all.  He also has given zero dollars to the university despite making millions.  I love Paul.  Went to school with him and have rooted for him his entire career.  But to pretend he is a "Lawrence guy" is either disingenuous or an outright lie.

He has a condo at the new Oread Hotel, and he was just in Lawrence this past year, squawk.

 :dubious:

There's nothing more desperate than a mad ku fan rushing around demanding validation and affirmation with his oldfella talking points.   So, can you provide any proof at all that Paul Pierce comes back to Lawrence with any regularity.  I suspect Paul Pierce, like most star athletes, and pro coaches/major college coaches has set up an LLC.  I suspect Paul Pierce probably owns multiple properties and uses them for tax purposes.   There's a significant number of well known people who own property in Manhattan, at places like Colbert Hills and elsewhere.    They just don't blab about it all over the place.

His car was spotted driving down Jayhawk Boulevard just a couple of months ago, but if your ego can't handle the fact that Pierce returns to Lawrence from time to time, so be it.

Was Sherron there? Or could he not be pried out of the local buffet line to make an appearance?

Are you talking about the kid in the red? Yeah, doesn't look like he's looking at anything, tbh.

1) Nice source of revenue... like now that there's no more illegally selling tickets?
2) Revenue is driven by football. See conference realignment issues.
3) Can't pretend I'm not jealous of the event, but it does seem very early to be giving up on the football season.
