One thing that I don't think anyone has talked about, but I kind of noticed...
I don't think we're going to see a lot of movement from here on out with the exception of a few key guys. We may sign under 25 (placements excepted) because this isn't a very big Senior class, and because Bill likes to give walk ons scholarships, I think we may end up really putting 21 or 22 guys on scholarship this year.
I count 19, and that includes Dorrian Roberts (who I assume got one since he's starting).
I count 86 guys on scholarship (which I know isn't right). I assume that going into next year, Schellenburg will get one, but it won't count against our totals. I assume Dylan Veatch, Taylor Godinet, Zac Niemachek (sp) and Weston Hiebert all have one, but I have no idea. None of them may have gotten one...I don't know.
So, we have 17 scholarships right now (16 commits, 1 grayshirt). If we take one JUCO OL, one JUCO WR, two JUCO DB, one JUCO DT, and a JUCO LB, that would put us at 23 total on this year. Like I said, if my count is right, we may see a few guys mysteriously depart in the offseason. Guys like Cody Marley, Joseph Bonugli, etc. that never play.
Anyway, something to think about if we don't hear about many more targets between now and signing day.
