Does anyone else think D1 FBS programs have way too many scholarships? 85 is insane. 63 for FCS seems more realistic.

If the NCAA lowered the limit to say 65.. it would cut down on programs like Alabama, LSU, ND, USC hoarding talent that would otherwise make an impact at other programs.

Yeah you'd be depriving a lot of kids an opportunity for a free education. I agree that it would help the cats.

We don't need to change the rules to compete with the big boys. Been doing it for decades.

Rivals actually lists Tanner Wood as a four star and the #16 weakside defensive end now. I honestly preferred Jordan Willis before.

No, I really like Willis' measurables. Could be the best thing at DE since Darren Howard. I think Wood can and will be good, but not Darren Howard good.

Quote
It appears that three-star defensive lineman Bobby Leath (Lake Wales, Fla./Lake Wales) has made a decision regarding which college he will attend.

Leath is expected to sign with Kansas State on or after national signing day.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound senior chose the Wildcats over Iowa State, according to head coach Rod Shafer.

“I talked with Bobby and he made his intentions clear that he wants to go to Kansas State,” Shafer said. “They laid out a nice plan for Bobby that should work.”

Leath still has some academic work to take care of, according to Shafer.

“He has to get his test score in order mainly,” Shafer added. “But there’s a plan to get him to Kansas State eventually.”

Wood is an incredible athlete.   He probably won't be the next Darren Howard though,  probably the next Monte Beisel.

and to clarify... I was referring to Willis in comparison to Darren Howard. I think he has that potential and that's his ceiling. I think Wood can and will be great. Good get for the team.

Tuck? I have more negative posts than Kim Carnes.

Wanting to manipulate the rules for a more level playing field makes you a tuck. You don't have to change the rules you just have to win.

If that's the case then non-tucks prefer the current BCS system and tucks prefer a post season playoff?

I guess i'm a tuck.

For the tucks out there;
Trent Tanking ?@Ttank15

I have committed to play football next year at KSU! #PurplePride #EMAW

Holton kid(Brooks Barta). probably be a similar situation to mueller. The coaches love him but he is going to walk on and will redshirt. Pretty good athlete, just has a nose for the ball. Probably not a star, just a good contributor.

pvegs, you are by far my favorite poster with under 50 posts. Not even close. And so I'd like to believe you. I just don't want to get my hopes up. So for now, I'm still assuming he's not going to come here. I just wanted you to know my stance has nothing to do with you.
