This is starting to look like one sexy recruiting class.

Looked like JUCO d-end type.  Couldn't figure out if it was Hardison or not.  Another kid came in that looked like a HS WR type.  I looked a the visit list and couldn't find a match.  His dad did have a KSU pullover and hat.  Don't think either was Riyahd.  I'm probably to  :opcat: to give a more accurate description.

Mo Lattimore just walked into Kites with a recruit.  Don't know who.

describe him.

$1.50 burger and fries there today :lick:

Currie opened up the recruiting budget, I see.

So, what holes do we have left to fill at this point? Are we looking at any juco WRs?

[caveat: the only way I "follow" recruiting is by reading reactions here]

Pretty sure the staff still wants at least 1 more JUCO CB, sine they're going after 4 currently. No juco WR's that I'm aware of, unless someone who follows this more than I do has more info?

Assume we have an in home with Jones before he commits, unless our coaching staff is full of a bunch of studs.

boyd's junior highlights on hudl: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/106408/highlights/9301383

boyd scouting report on ESPN:

ESPN Analyst
Updated 12/14/2012
Boyd is a physically good looking defensive line prospect. He has very good height and looks to have a thick muscular build. He is listed as a defensive end but further physical development and the type of scheme he plays in will determine how he is used. But he certainly has "swing guy" potential. We would like to see more consistency from him, but the big guy shows a good initial burst and can get off the ball quickly. He plays with very good pad level, does a good job of firing out low and can get under blockers' pads. With his size, strength, and ability to quickly gain leverage, he can be a very tough player at the point of attack. With a good get-off and his ability to stay low, he is capable of getting some disruptive penetration at times. He does a nice job running line stunts and can quickly get to the shoulder and shoot upfield. He does some nice things, but must become more active with his hands. He doesn't consistently bring them and can let blockers get into his frame. He must do a better job of creating separation. He displays a good feel for reading blocking schemes and squeezes daylight. He is tough versus the double team. His short space quickness is better than his long speed, and he is more than adequate in his redirect ability and closing burst. He is a good square-up wrap-up tackler. As a pass rusher he can pressure with a bull rush as he can get under blockers' pads and overpower blockers. He is a little more active with his hands when rushing the passer, but can still use development here. He does flash the ability to attack half-a-man and quickly get to the shoulder, and may be even more disruptive as an interior pass rusher. Boyd does needs to keep developing aspects of his game, but is a big strong kid with good initial quickness and can be used in different ways along the D-line to give offenses trouble.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.
