this is one of our unranked offers.  watch this video...this kid is outstanding.  the tape doesn't lie, he's got the production, and he has impressive numbers on the track as well.  sometimes I don't get the recruiting rankings because this kid is a no brainer.

Alex Jackson, Culver City, Cali:
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Looks like a freak
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

anybody who can pull off the tie sweater combo we want (he looks so good he should be on the basketball team)

This is proof that I would suck as a talent scout. He looked like a fuckin stud yet no stars and only us with an offer.

he tore his acl last year i believe.

It doesn't matter.  Usage of the term "talent scout" with Rivals or Scout is pretty liberal.

You look at enough tape, you spend enough time doing comparative research, anyone can find good talent.

That said, this kid has D1 athleticism.  He may or may not play RB, but you can find a spot for him.

That's what TCU has done for years.  They recruit a ton of RBs and move them to defense.

At K-State, he will have at least three other local players as teammates, sophomore offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas of Karr, sophomore wide receiver Torell Miller of O. Perry Walker and freshman quarterback Daniel Sams from Salmen.

Maybe Sams wanted him.

Welcome to the purple Charles. Glad to have you on board.

This looks like a really diamond in the rough type of player.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

oh steve dave...you and a few others broke my heart puking on the 4.73 electronically timed 40.  Well, daniel sams ran a 4.74 electronically timed 40.

btw...here are a few OU commits..

2012 - 5-10 160 corner Devante Harris - 4.67  http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/93638
2011 - wide receiver trey metoyer - 4.82 http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/93593
2011 - corner Bennett Okotcha - 5.05 http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/93692

I could go on forever listing the elite programs with corner commits ranging from 4.6-4.8 at these events.

Click on the video...Jones is a good athlete.  That is what you want.  Jerametrius Butler was a 4.6 at the NFL combine but a terrific athlete and probably the best pure cover corner Snyder's had (yes, I'm including Newman and Canty in that discussion)...Jones probably looks a lot like Butler on film in high school.  First rule of thumb in recruiting corners...find fluid, quality athletes.

yeah, but Sams isn't 5ft 9.5 178 lbs.  He's from LA so I'm happy to have him.  Just wish he was fast and junk.

OK I'll bite; how good were the teams they played?  I know videos don't tell the whole story, but those other teams didn't look that good.  :ck:

he's being recruited by us as a corner.  And 5-9.5 (that is barefoot) so 5'10 178 (that was in january so 180-plus) isn't "small" for a corner.  He'll likely be one of these 5'10 190lb corners.  His explosiveness will improve and his speed.  A lot of 4.7ish kids at these high school combines show up at the NFL combine years later running 4.4's.  The RB out of Fresno State currently with the Chargers went from 4.8 to 4.3.  not everybody does that but you look for kids who are athletic and fluid...he is.

seriously dude.

the teams looked terrible on Sams' highlight video as well.  I would guarantee our staff saw this kid in person...perhaps at the under armour combine and workout.  you don't offer these kids randomly...we've done our homework on him as football's kinda big business.

If only South Alabama and Louisiana-Lafayette had known that this kid would soon be running a 4.3 they might have extended an offer.

I'm sorry The Manhatter.  I wish I shared your optimistic point of view on all things KSU football. I think I'm just sad that we're not very good, and I can say hurtful things when I am sad. It's certainly nothing personal. Except for when I called you a dumbass that one time. That was pretty personal. Friends?
