Really wish Venzy would have struggled another season and we probably would have got Bog.

I think Venzy will settle in as a 9-win coach moving forward.  I give KU a good chance to beat them this weekend.

Back to recruiting, HCCK seems to figure out defense even with multiple key injuries and losing 3 guys to NFL draft.  Getting Bogo would have been nice, but not necessary.  Portal will always be our friend.

With Avery Johnson we just need our defense to hold teams to 30 pts per game.

Flip from UTSA. No other P5 offers, but sounds like he’s a tackling machine. Highlights look pretty similar to some of the other MLB signings the last few years

Ahem... Mr. Morris had an offer from Vanderbilt, sir.

Kind of a lackluster class following a big 12 ship but '25 is loaded and we seem to be in good shape for that.

We also had a solid '23 class to go along with high needs via portal.

If we land Ross and Brix I'll change my tune on the quality of the '23 class but ultimately the staff have proven to be high quality talent evaluators and there will probably be a Sinnott or Felix type player in this class too.

Klieman was setting the expectations for this signing class at the press conference of the '23 class, he said because the '23 and '22 classes were so heavy with high schoolers this was going to be a light class. They retained damn near all of those '22s and the '23s are playing at a pretty unreal clip.

snyder's downfall was the ego he built around coaching up try-hards, all klieman has to do is avoid that. he seems a lot more about wins than other stuff that snyder was - legacy, ego about his way of doing things, hooking up his boys with coaching jobs, family.

His downfall was he got old AF. Snyder was an objectively great coach, he was just physically and mentally incapable of voluntarily hanging it up.

One of those boys he hooked up with a coaching job is doing pretty well as our OC.

His actual son is currently on staff with the best team KU has had maybe ever but certainly in the last decade.

I don't want to have to do this but if we are going to start defending late 2.0 coaching hires I'm going to have to unleash @sonofdaxjones on your ass with a Mo Lattimore anecdote or two.

I don't have any Mo Latimore anecdotes besides simply to say that Mo was at K-State for a long time.  His coaching journey at K-State would make a pretty decent quick read book or feature magazine article.

When you talked to Mo in person, his voice sounded quite similar to Kermit the Frog.

Would you say Mo’s voice was close to Kermit the Frog or Dr. Jordan Peterson if you had to choose?

I don't know who this Peterson fella is, but in the old days, there were a number of people who reached the same conclusion about Mo independently. Judge for yourself...

This is pretty much correct. In general it was a decaying inertia from everyone knowing he was old and not knowing who was next. Also in general his old(er) school way of doing things I think we're also getting in the way of some young exciting guys. Under Bill you didn't need a ton of talent, but you had to have some.

Super weird offer list. Several regional G5s, then ‘Cats, TCU, Baylor plus Virginia and BC?

Looks like he’s got good size and speed so  :emawkid:
