Not sure how hard we were going for this guy, but we lost out to THE Stephen F. Austin University

Rodney Young
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=4985748

So he apparently pick SFA over KSU, Boise St., and Missouri?

Yeah, there was something scaring the schools away.
Check out hi weaknesses... one is poor tackling - Houlik 2.0? 'Grats SFA - enjoy!

Hitting ability and shedding ability were his two weaknesses?

So, who would want a kid who can't shed blockers or tackle at the high school level?

And that's a rhetorical question because, yes, I know we would.

Anybody hear anything about Chase Harper.  Last update I have is him withdrawing from the U for academic reasons.  We could you a tight end that could catch a floater.

If he can't get into Miami, I'm not sure he's going to be able to get into KSU either.

I'm not an expert when it comes to ACC requirements, but I'm guessing he's probably a longshot to ever make it on a D1 campus.  He'll probably end up at some D2 school somewhere.

I've religiously followed KSU recruiting for over ten years, and I've seen video for three players that made me think, "How in the Hell is this guy not being recruited by bigger programs?"

1) Darren Sproles
2) Zac Robinson
3) Daniel Sams

And my comparison between Robinson and Sams videos was like  :dunno: for Robinson and  :horrorsurprise: for Sams.

If he actually signs and qualifies, he'll be the best prep recruit we've landed since Freemaw.

Rivals.com has him rated as a three-star prospect. The website showed him with high recruiting interest from Kansas State and medium interest from Iowa State, Air Force and Harvard, but no scholarship offers.

I'm not sure this kid has quite figured out WTF he wants to do with his life.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Skyline linebacker Mike Moore is taking his official visit to Kansas State this weekend, after recently decommitting from Minnesota.

Moore, who during the regular season for Skyline had 63 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 21 QB pressures, and a blocked field goal, had originally committed to Minnesota last July, soon after taking an unofficial visit to campus.

But Minnesota had a coaching change at the end of the season, with Northern Illinois coach Jerry Kill taking over the Minnesota program from Tim Brewster.

While Kill and Moore had talked and Moore kept his commitment, recently he decided to take some other official visits.

Moore, a 6-1, 220-pound outside linebacker ranked No. 28 in HSGametime's Area Top 100, would join Skyline DE Marquel Bryant if he decided to commit to Kansas State. Bryant gave his verbal commitment to the Wildcats in August.

Verbal commitments are non-binding; the first day a recruit from the Class of 2011 can sign a National Letter of Intent is Feb. 2.

So if I am following everything correctly, if this coaching staff pulls off a major miracle (for them) this weekend, we're actually looking at a pretty decent class??
