I saw Cosh meeting with a recruit the other day.  Pretty depressing on a number of different levels...

I once shared a small plane ride with Cosh after Snyder retired.  I can't remember where I was flying, but it was out of Cleveland and it wasn't headed to Maryland.

The dude looked stunning in his Maryland Terrapins sweater vest.  The way the light from that small window reflected off of his bald head, as it escaped through the hairs he combed over it, was just breathtaking.

I was so compelled to introduce myself, but I fell asleep after I got my pretzels, so, yeah.  That's my brush with Chris Cosh story.

Wow.  That beats the time I spoke with Brent Musberger about the weather in Illinois.

It's just hard for me to get too upset about losing Kennard because I can't think of a single reason a wide receiver of his ability would choose K-State over his other options. Until LHC Bill Snyder gets a quarterback that he is comfortable passing the ball with, we shouldn't expect to get highly ranked wide receivers.

I'm upset because:

1) His talents would have given us a unique weapon in this offense that would make it easier to utilize the QB run game.
2) We lost a freaking placement.  It's like striking out in a slow pitch softball game.  We were the only team that could easily communicate with him for TWO YEARS.  And we apparently didn't do a very good job of that.

Kennard made the right choice.

isnt that the real problem?

So you were sitting in a cave with Osama Bin Laden and you just decided to admire how the dust collected on his beard?  eff you, man!  I partly blame this dumpster fire on you.  If you would've offed him when you had the chance we'd prolly have a slightly less awful old washed up D-coordinator.

Had a nice discussion with Rich Brooks and a Kentucky assistant in the Charlotte Airport a few years ago.   They had just been down in Florida recruiting.   Then a non college attending white trash Ohio State fan decided to chime in . . .  :flush:

Here is a little Pena update (and most likely all what you will see when GPC has something up). I talked to him....

Gilbert really enjoyed Manhattan. He got here on Monday night and left yesterday morning. Was hanging out with the Brown Brothers mostly. Was checking out the UC apartments. Had to come mid-week to fit his other visits in (he's going to take all of his officials). Then decide.

"all of his officials" = Florida State = no chance

Why wouldn't we offer a badass juco LB?  And if we won't even offer him, why does his team mate think there's a very good chance we will sign him?  Walk-on, like Willie Powell?

Has Kansas state offered Jackson or they just needed a HS LB? They could use him for the first 2 years if Mickens is going to Blinn, they'll have him for the last 2 then.

I've tried him twice already today, not to mention a few other times late last week. He has yet to answer.

We also appreciate such positive remarks on our work ethic...

Nothing wrong with your work ethic. You guys just have a terrible time getting recruits to talk to you. Maybe it's just a KSU thing.

Or you have the worst luck in the world. Dunno.

I don't think it's about working hard, it's about working more efficiently. You guys keep calling kids that may or may not be able to talk about their recruitment due to their particular situations, ie..coaches telling them not to talk to you...etc... Once again, call their coaches or other teammates when they don't call you back. If a strange person was trying to call me I may not answer either. How about a few texts, like "Rob here from GPC, a KSU fan website, not affiliated with KSU, would like to ask a few questions. Let me know if you're available, if not, just a quickie, have you been offered by KSU, and if so, are they in your top 3."

Surely you've done the text thing 1000 times, right? I, unlike most on here, don't question your work ethic. I think you do what you're asked to do. It's a thankless job you do, but maybe some different tactics could help. Maybe try befriending a few juco coaches, or some of these juco kids high school coaches. This is not just for these kids but for your answers on kids down the road. These juco coaches seem to stick around in the same spot for years.

Being serious here, not being critical, just trying to help.

Cornelius "Tank" Carradine will be committing to Florida State on Wednesday, and he will not be missed by the Ohio State staff after the stunt he pulled this weekend.

Carradine, a Junior College recruit, was scheduled to officially visit Ohio State this weekend but did not make it to Columbus. Carradine took the flight as planned, but instead of traveling to Columbus for his official visit, he used the opportunity to go home to Cincinnati to see his mother. He essentially used Ohio State's interest in him to bum a free plane trip home.

And he probably won't qualify.  Unfortunately none of the idiots at GoPowercat will broach the question.  They'll leave it to Crabtree to break the tard's hearts a couple months from now.

Pretty much the hallmark of WRSOAT . . . 2nd or 3rd choice, fringe recruiting of academic risks or greyshirt candidates.
