With solid S&C, he could probably have similar measurables to Dak Prescott.

I already like his delivery better. Prescott had a pretty big windup. Betts gets the ball to his chin quickly and establishes a nice, tight whip through the release. That reduction in range of motion will mean a quick release and better accuracy.

However, he's a project. But he's got a great frame and has good velocity. If he can play at 6'3", 235, and get that 40 down to 4.8 by his Junior year, he's a prospect worth investing in.

It's a beautiful campus right near Michigan Ave. and close to the lake. Wonderful school.

To be perfectly honest, any kid that isn't using this opportunity to go to Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Duke, etc. is really missing out. Free education at one of the best schools in the world, and you'll get access to academic support that most normal students won't have.

Very mature decision. Good for him.

At the undergraduate level it's all about perception...there really isn't much of a difference between most schools quality of education until you get to the graduate level and beyond. Even then, rankings don't often incorporate true quality of education as much as resources and selectivity.

You're kidding yourself. I agree somewhat, at least locally. But nationally, no way. That kid has a better shot at landing a dream gig in a dream area like California or new york, etc. vs some farmer joe from K-State. I pre judge candidates based off what dental school they went to (I know this makes your point). However, you know they do the same thing with business, engineering, finance, etc. Northwestern is expensive AF. If you can get it for free, DO IT!

i think Freakonomics had a blurb about that in the original book... something like the standout students from "state schools" are just as successsful as most students from prestigious schools. it's the average students at state schools that don't stand a chance vs average students at prestigious schools
