Looks like we are in the top two against Minnesota again for low-mid 3star CB durr.

We should win this one right? We have a true freshman starting at CB

if a recruit is too stupid to understand that its not how we use our running backs, its that we dont have any worth a crap then he would have never made it here anyways.

Maybe our coaches should have helped the kid reach that conclusion instead of rooming him with a disgruntled RB who wants more playing time.
agree completely but its not like its hard to see where we are at with the rb group

We're herp-derp recruiters.   Lots of schools are herp-derp recruiters.    It just seems strange that in "attention to detail" land that it would be so herp-derp once we get a kid on campus, but it is.

nothing strange about it.  they're feeding their own egos.
i mean, i'd love it if the announcers of every national broadcast gushed for 75% of the game about how great of a coach i was, being able to win with less, proving the skeptics wrong, etc etc.

We're obviously not even trying.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I'm not sure what you mean here. With the exception of the TCU game, hell maybe even including the TCU game, we haven't ran the ball enough and that's been the primary thought. What is he supposed to think when everyone watching thinks we don't run enough?

Crabtree was on 810 and said that Bryant's main reason for decommitting from K-State was that he didn't like how running backs are being used here. We now might be looking closer to home at the McCoy kid from Topeka High.

Also, everyone is using Bill's age against us in recruiting. Coaches have told him they use it.

he's smart enough to realize that his peers would be using it against him but i do not buy into the narrative that it's a reason why we're not getting recruits

It's not why we don't have better targets, but it certainly could be a reason why better targets would not come here. There is virtually no shot that this staff will be here in four years, players commit to coaches and staffs, not schools.

no doubt, but i think that there's enough evidence in play to firmly understand what this staff values in the recruiting process and how they operate.  i think the age thing is a strawman excuse for people looking for a reason why our recruiting sucks.

I asked because you are repeating this like all over the place in like every thread regardless of what it's about. It's almost as if you haven't come to grips that everyone who actively posts here agrees that our recruiting is trash so you're arguing with yourself or posters on a different website.

Age isn't a strawman.  The bottom line is, if a kid is recruited who wants to play for Snyder it is a pretty easy (and persuasive) argument to say "you're going to go to that school and end up playing for someone else."

A reasonable counterargument would be that very few talented kids actually DO want to play for Snyder.  If you think you're one of the best in the country, you don't want to feel like you might get marginalized if Snyder just happens to feel you aren't working as hard as some farm boy from Ogden.

As usual, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
